20 Thoughts I Had While Re-Watching 'What Does The Fox Say?'

This music video might have gotten even weirder the longer I went without watching it.

Just a few days under three years ago, in a much simpler time, a video was gaining popularity and circulating the internet with rapidly gaining frequency. So many words can be attributed to the viral video and its corresponding soundtrack: strange, confusing, funny, shocking; but one thing is for certain, no one will forget the first time they watched "The Fox (What Does The Fox Say?)".

For me, it was an ordinary day of my senior year, after classes had ended, but before musical rehearsal had started and students had a habit of playing music videos on the classroom projector. On the day in question, my attention was directed toward this unusual video, this unique mix of shouting and costuming; I had never seen anything quite like it before. Tonight, I am revisiting that moment and documenting it, all for you, the readers.

1. Everyone is standing around in animal costumes, but like it looks like a fun party.

2. Why isn't the singer in a costume? Is this some Gatsby situation where he throws the party just to watch his guests?

3. Is this a children's song? This is all information I'm aware of.

4. Does an elephant really 'toot'? Would we trivialize them that much?

5. Oh, now he's in costume and he's a fox, makes sense.

6. Don't foxes bark? Because they're related to dogs?

7. Why would you assume that a fox would make ANY of these insane sounds?

8. Who is this old man? What story is he reading this poor child?

9. Why are the lyrics across the bottom of the screen? It's not like we'll recognize this gibberish.

10. "Like an angel in disguise"? They have a weird relationship with foxes.

11. TBH their singing voices aren't terrible.

12. Why does this set look like the opening of the Twilight movie?

13. Omg they're floating...but it's unclear why. Or how?

14. This seems like a song that a middle schooler wrote for a science project.

15. THE FOX IS DANCING

16. WE KNOW ITS SOUND

17. And also this fox has some serious moves.

18. Aw, he has vanished into the forest again. Goodbye, fox.

19. This party got wild. Lasted until the morning and everything.

20. Wow, 2013 was a weird year.

I strongly recommend re-watching this one for yourself and taking a trip back to yesteryear. But, I warned you, it's pretty weird.

an image of taylor swift standing center stage surrounded by her backup dancers in elegant peacock esque outfits with a backdrop of clouds and a box rising above the stage the image captures the vibrant aesthetics and energy of her performance during the lover era of her eras tour

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
