20 Thoughts That Go Through Your Head When Meeting Your Boyfriend’s Parents

Meeting the parents is a huge moment in any relationship. And while it probably won't "make or break" your relationship, depending on how much you and your significant other value each other's opinions, it can determine how smoothly things will go if things get serious between you two.

Think about it. You love your boyfriend and your boyfriend loves you, and all that’s left is to make sure his parents love you, too. Although, you’re convinced that’s easier said than done. Here are 20 thoughts that go through your head before meeting your boyfriend’s parents:

1. "Ugh, I'm so nervous, this is so stressful. I really hope they like me."

2. "Ok, I swear this dress wasn't this short this morning."

3. "Great, I look like sh*t. They're going to think their son is dating a scrub."

4. "These are the moments when being a picky eater SUCKS."

5. "Think fast! Do I greet them with a hug or a handshake?"

7. "Alright, so that awkward encounter just answered my question."

8. "Ah too many questions, I don't even remember what my own name is!"

9. "Oh, my goodness, I forgot about the siblings."

10. "Wow, his sisters are beautiful."

11. "Where's the dog? I bet he would like me."

12. "I wonder how much he's told them about me."

13. "Don't spill, don't spill, don't spill. F*CK."

14. "I hope they can't see me sweating."

15. "How is it possible to have a family this big?"

16. "Dammit, I hope no one realized I complimented his mom like, 23 times in the last five minutes."

17. "Do they like me, or are they just being polite?"

18. "I didn't understand that joke. Should I laugh anyways?"

19. "Wow, OK. This is going really well."

20. "I think."

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

eye roll

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

Yify

Another day, another Elle Woods comment. Can’t us blondes get through the day without someone harping at us over the typical stereotypes about who we are? I never understood why a person was judged based upon the hair color they were born with, or the hair color they choose to have (unless you dye your hair blue like Kylie Jenner, I’m still trying to understand why that’s a trend). Nevertheless, as it should be assumed, not everyone is the same. Not all blondes like bright colors and Lilly Pulitzer, and not all blondes claim to identify with Marilyn Monroe. I think the best suggestion to give to people before they make such radical claims is to stop judging a book by its cover. Or in this case, stop judging a blonde by her hair color.
