WARNING! SPOILERS AHEAD!

Harry Potter. Some of the most popular books in the world. JK Rowling had no idea that her simple idea would go viral. The Harry Potter fandom is one of the most devout out there. That being said, there were some pretty high expectations when movies were announced. Luckily, Rowling played a big part in the production of the movies, and there were very few faults in the movies. However, due to the devoutness of the fans, I being one of them, there are some very important story lines that were either missing in the movies or were changed in general. Here are 20 of those things.

1. Luna Lovegood and Neville Longbottom don’t actually end up together.

As the Battle of Hogwarts was coming to an end in "Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part 2", Neville states that he needed to go find Luna, considering he was "mad for her". While many fans shipped Neville and Luna, that is not how it all went down in the books. When you read the books you discover that they both went different ways after completing school.

2. The Weasley’s house doesn’t actually burn down.

Why would someone come up with such an emotional concept? Not The Burrow!

3. Ron and Hermione were named Prefects.

Crazy, right? I mean we all expected Hermione, but Ron?

4. Neville was raised by his Gran after his parents were driven to madness after being tortured by Death Eaters. They lived out their days at Saint Mungo's Hospital.

5. Harry, Hermione, and Ron visit Saint Mungo's and run into Neville’s parents while there. They also saw their past professor, Gilderoy Lockhart, who ended up there due to a backfired memory charm.

6. Nymphadora Tonks and Remus Lupin were married... and had a son in Deathly Hallows.

They had to make a hard decision to leave their infant son, Teddy with her parents so they could fight to save Hogwarts. Their worst fear came true when neither of them survived the battle.

7. Hermione started S.P.E.W. - Society for the Promotion of Elfish Welfare, to stand up for the rights of house-elves.

8. The phoenix feathers in Harry’s and Voldemort’s wands came from Dumbledore’s phoenix, Fawkes.

9. Neville was almost “The Chosen One”

"The odd thing is, Harry," Dumbledore said softly, "that it may not have meant you at all. Sibyll's prophecy could have applied to two wizard boys, both born at the end of July that year, both of whom had parents in the Order of the Phoenix, both sets of parents having narrowly escaped Voldemort three times. One, of course, was you. The other was Neville Longbottom."

10. Fenrir Greyback was the werewolf who bit Remus Lupin as a child. He also bit Bill Weasley during the Battle of the Astronomy Tower in The Half-Blood Prince.

11. When Snape killed Dumbledore, Harry was under a Freezing Charm performed by Dumbledore so he wouldn’t intervene.

12. Harry went to Bill and Fleur’s wedding disguised as Barny Weasley,by drinking bits of Polyjuice Potion, to be passed off as a red-headed Weasley cousin.

In the movie, he just goes as plain old Harry, which was simply way too dangerous.

13. In The Deathly Hallows, if someone said Voldemort’s name out loud, the Death Eaters would be able to track and find the one who said it.

They're gonna find you.

14. Dumbledore’s sister, Ariana (The girl in Aberforth’s frame), was attacked by three muggles when she was a young child. Her magical powers were ruined, and she had no control over them. She would have random fits of magical rage, one of which ended up killing their mother.

15. Ariana was killed by a misfired spell during a duel between Albus, Aberforth, and Gellert Grindelwald

Albus never forgave himself.

16. The Marauders, of the infamous Marauders Map that Harry receives, were Harry’s father and Sirius Black, Peter Pettigrew, and Remus Lupin, who created the map so they could sneak around school after hours. They were also known as Prongs, Padfoot, Wormtail, and Moony respectively.

17. Snape was The Half-Blood Prince in the most literal sense. His father was a muggle, his mother was a pureblood with the maiden name of “Prince”. So he was, in fact, a half-blood, and he was half of a Prince.

18. Neville’s Gran, Augusta Longbottom came to fight death eaters during The Battle of Hogwarts.

19. In the book, Harry is able to use the Elder Wand to repair his old holly-and-phoenix-feather wand.

20. Harry put the Elder Wand back in Dumbledore’s grave, allowing the power of it to die with him.

So next time, when you are looking to watch a movie... read the book first! It will change your life. I promise!

Girl With Bleached Hair
Tumblr

I've been a bleach blonde for over a year now, and let me tell you, it is a lifestyle. More hair appointments, longer showers, and special shampoo. But it is totally worth it!

1. Mentally preparing yourself to convince your hair dresser that white is the way to go.

2. Or the anxiety of what could go wrong by bleaching your hair at home.

3. You could either become a ginger

4. Or a pixie

5. The face you make in the mirror when you take off your towel to unveil the perfect white strands.

6. Taking a million selfies the day you bleached it, because you know your roots will be back in literally 2 days.

7. Having to get bangs or a big chop because your hair is so damaged.

8. Having orange highlights in between touch-ups.

9. Going out for a drink afterwards to debut your updated look.

Despite the struggles, you love your platinum blonde hair! You make sure Instagram knows it, too. You don't need a filter, because the color is flawless by itself!

I've been at this college thing for almost three and a half years, and while I thought that high school was truly the lowest point of my existence, I'm beginning to realize that it was a walk in the park. Like, I miss the days when the biggest white lie I told my parents was my made up excuse about being late for fourth period. These days, the white lies are a tad more complex, and as ashamed as I am to admit it, I've definitely told a few of these.
