20 Things You Remember From Elementary School

The most carefree school years of your life

I was feeling rather nostalgic this week.

1. These scooters were the best

Attaching them together to make a train was the best part.

2. Making a 'mushroom' with your classmates.

The parachute doubled as an invisibility shield and you used it to hide from your teacher at the end of gym class.

3. Heads Up Seven Up

All you had to do was have your head slightly off the edge of the table so you could see the shoes.

4. Valentines Day was fun for everyone.

Everybody got their own bag with tons of valentines.

5. It was a good day when you saw this

Even if you didn't know what exactly you were going to watch, you were still excited.

6. Trying to use two colors at once

I have a pretty old one sitting here on my desk right now. It still doesn't let you use two colors at once.

7. Buying this eraser but never actually using it

It was such a hassle to get out and use, but it was a cool thing to have at least.

8. The first instrument you learned to play

Playing the recorder was lit.

9. When your school's library was turned into this giant book fair

Even if you weren't big on reading, this fair was awesome. They had little gadgets and picture books and everything.

10. These pencil sharpeners that always screeched so loud the whole entire school heard

11. Your teachers walked your class through the hallways

You stayed with the same class all day and when you had to go to another classroom, you all walked together in a single file.

12. Show and Tell was your chance to shine

I never had anything interesting to show but everyone else did and I enjoyed that part at least.

13. Recess

Whether you were joining in a game of kickball or four square, or swinging on the swings, recess was a good part of the day.

14. Field Day was the best

Field Day was literally the best day of the year. It was practically an entire day of recess.

15. Jump Rope For Heart

I'm not sure how widespread this one was, but it was fun. My school always went all out for it, with obstacles and balance beams, and a rope thing too.

16. When people would bring in cupcakes to celebrate their birthday with the class

Now multiply that by how many people were in your class...that's a nice amount of cupcakes and parties in one school year!

17. You could tell the future

I always found these so cool, mostly because I never found out how to make them.

18. Hand games

Concentration ... 64 ... no repeats ... or hesitation ... ill start ... you'll finish ... category is ... colors.

19. Rushing to finish your times table in the 2 minutes given

I never finished in time.

20. When everybody thought 'HAGS' was an acceptable way to sign your yearbook.

This one lasted all through middle school as well.

an image of taylor swift standing center stage surrounded by her backup dancers in elegant peacock esque outfits with a backdrop of clouds and a box rising above the stage the image captures the vibrant aesthetics and energy of her performance during the lover era of her eras tour

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
