Going into high school, I definitely did not expect it to fly by like it did. If I could go back, there are so many things that I would tell myself. Although I would not change anything, it would be nice to go back and give myself some advice, such as:

1. Do not wear the silver eyeshadow. Just don't.

2. Don't be scared to compliment the girl whose outfits you like in English, you'll be best friends for the rest of high school and into college.

3. It's OK to ask where to go on the first day.

4. And you'll know exactly where to go on the second day because of that.

5. Don't be afraid to walk alone in the hallway. No one is watching you or cares.

6. The seniors do not care about you, do not be nervous to walk by them.

7. You're going to miss out on some things because of work and homework, but your grades are worth it.

8. It's OK to not go out every weekend.

9. Try to bond with teachers, you will need their recommendation letters eventually.

10. Don't vent via Facebook, you will regret that when you look at your Timehop years later.

11. Friends will come and go more often than you think.

12. Everything happens for a reason.

13. Don't pretend to be someone who you aren't to get someone to like you, especially boys. They aren't worth it.

14. Stop dying your hair, it looks fine.

15. Work on your eyebrows, they definitely need some help.

16. Don't be nervous about dating your best friend.

17. Don't overthink every single thing that everyone says to you, they aren't thinking about it the way that you are.

18. Try to enjoy your senior year and make the best of it. Don't stay home every weekend even when you don't have work.

19. Enjoy your senior prom, you'll regret that you didn't.

20. Cherish every moment and don't wish that it's over because it flies by.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
