We all know what Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder is, but what exactly causes it? Attention deficit is caused by differences in the functioning of neurotransmitters in a person's brain. There are three different forms of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and they are primarily inattentive, hyperactive-impulsive,or combined. People often think that ADHD is a disorder among young children--but if someone has ADHD they will have it for life. Below are 20 things that adults with ADHD may experience.

1. They may appear not to be listening.

2. Having multiple projects going on at once.

Many which will go uncompleted!

3. Making careless mistakes.

4. Impulsive risk-taking.

They may do this by driving past the speed limit, gambling, or putting too much spending on their credit card.

5. Fidgeting or tapping their pencil during class.

6. Forgetting appointments.

7. They might appear disorganized.

8. Lengthy reading stresses them out and gives them headaches.

9. People with ADHD are great problem solvers.

It’s not that they’re any more or less intelligent than the average population. Rather, this tendency is a result of thinking outside the box.

10. Hyper focusing on things that they find interesting.

Even though people with ADHD have trouble concentrating on things they find difficult, or that require continuous attention, they can focus well on things they are interested in. This usually annoys, surprises, or confuses those around the person with ADHD. Not that most people can shoot a bow and arrow and do a handstand at the same time.

11. They might say something without thinking.

I'm really excited to meet you! I've seen all the pictures of you on vacation in the Bahamas on Facebook! You looked younger then.

12. What they eat becomes especially important to managing their symptoms.

Of course eating healthy is important for everyone. Do not underestimate the importance of eating a well-balanced diet for a person on the neurodiverse spectrum.

13. Trouble sleeping.

This can be a result of many factors such as stress for the average person. For the person with ADHD, it can be a problem of poor executive functioning. They might get really into a video game, or get so lost in a book, that they have trouble putting on the brakes.

15. Their minds may wander during conversations.

16. They struggle with routine tasks such as washing dishes.

17. They have trouble getting their homework done.

18. They may have trouble understanding the passage of time.

19. They underestimate the amount of time that it takes them to finish tasks.

20. They often lose or forget things.

It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.
