If you go away for college it's likely the first time you're living on your own. Living on your own comes with a lot of responsibilities and as a college student I know there is a lot of things that I don't understand. At least once a week my mom gets a phone call that is combined with complaints and questions, here are a few:

1. "How long until ____ expires?"

2. "Can you send me a care package?"

3. "What should I take for my cold?"

4. "I'm bored."

5. "What's going on at home?"

6. "Do you miss me?"

7. "I miss you."

8. "Where's Dad?"

9. "I'm so stressed I want to drop out."

10. "What did you do today?"

11."I'm so hungry."

12. "The food here sucks, I miss your cooking."

13. "How do I get this stain out?"

14. "Can you send me a gift card to Dunkin'?"

15. "I have no money."

16. *complain about being tired

17. *complain about doing homework

18. * complain about having class in the morning

19. "I miss home cooked meals."

20. "Bye. Love you. I'll probably call you tomorrow."

Writing a paper is never fun and is rarely rewarding. The writer's block, the page requirement, be specific, but don’t summarize, make sure you fixed any grammatical errors, did you even use spellcheck? and analyze, analyze, analyze.

Papers can be a major pain. They take up so much time and effort that by the end of the process you hate yourself and you hate the professor for making life so difficult. Questions of your existence start roaming in your mind. Am I even cut out for college if I can’t write a single paper? Am I even capable of taking care of myself if I lack the energy to open my laptop and start typing?
