Being a married college student has its perks. It serves as a pleasant distraction from the stress graduate school brings, as well as the gentle reminder why I am doing what I am doing. I believe there are many things that I love about being married, and with this being my second year of marriage, I would like to highlight 20 things that I love about being married.
- Waking up to the love of my life.
- Going to sleep with the love of my life.
- Laughing the night away.
- Study partner hours before the exam.
- Wrestling in the bed.
- Playing Hide and Seek in our apartment and hallways.
- Being the first to hear her good news.
- Looking in on her classroom long enough for her to lock eyes with me.
- Binge watching episodes of "Grey’s Anatomy" on Netflix.
- Helping her choose between shirts and accessories.
- Carrying her on my back through the quad or to the car.
- Supporting her in achieving her goals.
- Sharing insiders.
- Grooming just for her.
- Supporting her through difficult times.
- Having her support during difficult times.
- Accountability.
- Knowing that I am never alone.
- Being vulnerable.
- Constant love.
For those who are married, you know that it is the little things that make marriage worthwhile. And for those who are engaged or aspiring to marry someday, when married to the right person, it is a dream come true. Whoever you are married to, engaged to, or courting, should be someone who makes you better and should be someone that you are happy with. If you have these two, you are in good shape.
