Always Go With Your Gut

Whenever you have to make a decision, I have learned to go with my initial instinct. Don't second guess yourself. If you think something is off or wrong, 9/10 your gut instinct is correct. Never second guess yourself.

Be Confident

There will always be people that try to tear you down or make you feel like you don't belong. Don't let those people get to you. If you want to wear something you think is cute, do it. Express yourself. Be 100% authentic. Be yourself and don't let others make you feel embarrassed or ashamed.

Learn To Laugh At Yourself

Know that it's okay to mess up or get embarrassed. It happens to everyone. The thing to note is to learn to laugh at yourself for your mistakes. When you constantly think about how you made a mistake, you're only hurting yourself. Mistakes make us human.

Be Social

Whenever you feel down or sad, learn to say "yes" to a social event you are invited to. I've learned that being sad about a situation won't make me feel better if i isolate myself and don't talk to anyone. Yes, "me time" is extremely important as well. But, It is important to have people to lean on in times of crisis. If your friend invites you somewhere, even though you are feeling down, say "yes." I promise you won't regret it.

Be Adventurous

Sometimes it is important to get off of the internet and simply go walking. Technology has made us less communicative and more isolated. It is important to get outside and sometimes take a long walk. Hiking and walking by myself, or with others, are the most relaxing things to me.

Things Happen For a Reason

Over the course of my 20 years, I have learned that everything happens for a reason. Everything is in God's time and control. We may not appreciate it at the moment, but we learn with time that it was for the best.

Be Optimistic

It is extremely important to have a positive out look on life. We all have a specific purpose in life. I truly believe that. No two people are the same, and no one has the same purpose. In life, there will be sad times as well as happy times. We can never know when these times are, but it is important to know that our futures are bright.

Love Yourself, Love Others

Yes, there are times that people anger us. It is important to remember to love others as well as ourselves. Like I said previously, loving yourself is important. But, loving others is also important to maintaining a healthy mindset and lifestyle.

Don't Stress

Stress has been proven to lead to unhappiness and heart problems. For me, I stress about everything. But, whenever I can, I try my best not to. The things we stress about are usually so small. So try not to stress. Take a breath. Take your time.

Take Your Time

We all think that we are running out of time with school, our jobs, to run errants, etc. In reality, we have a ton of time. Life may be short, but we tend to rush into things and don't pay attention and before we know it, our lives have passed us by. Don't rush, you have plenty of time.

6 Unrealistic Expectations Society Has For Young Adults

Don't let the thesaurus-inspired vocabularies in our résumés fool you. We're actually just big kids.

Well over four feet tall and 100 pounds in weight, many of us "young adults" of the world still consider ourselves children. Big, working, college-attending, beer-drinking children. We may live on our own, know how to cook noodles, and occasionally use a planner, but don't be fooled; the youthful tendencies that reside within us still make their way into our daily lives. From choosing to stay up until 3:00 a.m. playing video games on a school night to going out in 30 degree weather without a coat, we still make decisions that our parents and grandparents would shake their heads at in disappointment. So why are we expected to know exactly how to be a wise, professional, sensible adult? It's not that we're irresponsible (for the most part, anyway). It's that we are young, inexperienced, and still have the sought-after, enthusiastic mentality that we can do and be whatever we want, which has not yet been tarnished by the reality of the world. These are just a few of the unrealistic expectations that society has for young adults.

Fandango

There are a lot of foods in this world, but there is only one dish that stands above the rest: Pizza. If you're close to me or at least know who I am, then you know that I'm totally obsessed with pizza. It's one of my favorite things to eat and I will NEVER turn down a slice, even if it doesn't have my favorite toppings. There isn't a day that goes by where I'm not thinking about pizza. I even sleep with a pizza pillow every night! There are many reasons why pizza stands above all other foods, and here are just a couple reasons why.
