Moving to college is an interesting time in life. Who knew you could be so nervous and excited at the same time. You hear stories all the time about the craziness of moving in and all the excitement it brings. This is the beginning of a brand new adventure. But first, you have to get all of your totes out of the car and try to fit things in everything nook and cranny. If you are doing move in weekend right, you'll find these to be true:

1. You will cry.

This will happen more than once...more than twice...and probably more than three times. Just tell yourself to get through it. You can do it!

2. You will feel out of place.

Welcome to diversity! You will most likely not know more than a hand full of people. Everyone is strangers. Introduce yourself and start a conversation.

3. You will decorate the shit out of your room.

This is the best part. Make it your own!

4. You will forget something.

Whether it's a remote to the TV or your toothbrush...you just never know.

5. You will walk a lot.

This is a fact. Make sure to wear your FitBit. That is all.

6. You will get homesick.

You'll actually miss your parents, siblings, pets, and your bed.

7. You will meet a lot of people.

You may not like them all and that is okay. Find people with the same interests as you.

8. You will want to take a nap.

Just let it happen. You're in college now, you deserve this.

9. You will get a lot of free stuff.

Keep it all. You are now poor, congrats.

10. You will be stressed out.

Enough said.

11. You will want a lanyard.

You'll take your key card and student ID everywhere. Invest in one of these.

12. You will want to wear tennis shoes.

Please see number 5.

13. You will get annoyed.

Take a deep breath and eat some chocolate. Don't kill anyone, it's not worth it.

14. You will think you do not have enough space.

You really don't, but everything will fit and you will get used to it!

15. You will go to a lot of events.

Find some organizations or clubs you'd like to join. This will help your nerves and you'll make some new friends.

16. You will want to leave your door open.

People will stop in, say hi, and compliment your decorations. People rock.

17. You will want to reapply deodorant.

Seriously, you will sweat!

18. You will want a fan.

It gets hot and stuffy, a fan will come in handy.

19. You will want a piece from home.

Whether it is a blanket or a teddy bear, this will make the transition a little easier.

20. You will enjoy it.

It will be hectic, but this is the beginning of a new adventure. Embrace the awkward. I promise you aren't the only one.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
