20 Things To Do With Your BFF This Summer

Saying goodbye to best friends at college is tough, especially when you live hours away from each other. Summer vacation provides a chance to finally reunite with best friends from high school!

Here are 20 things for you and your high school BFFs to do this summer:

1. Go to the beach

Even if you don't live near a beach, a road trip to one is always fun!

2. Take a road trip to a city in your state that you've never visited before

You'd be surprised how much you don't know about your own state.

3. Make an awesome playlist for car rides

Don't forget to add some of your favorite throwback songs from middle school.

4. Go to the gym together

Try a zumba or yoga class together. Even if you aren't the best, at least you look dumb together.

5. Get mani-pedis together

6. Go see a movie

My high school BFF and I are going to see "Finding Dory" as soon as it comes out!

7. Go to a concert together

Dance, laugh, and make some awesome memories listening to your favorite musician.

8. Visit a festival together

There are a ton of festivals in Virginia. My favorites are the Virginia Beach Patriotic Festival and the Pungo Strawberry Festival.

9. Go for a hike

It's a perfect way to get some exercise and take some amazing pictures.

10. Meet up for brunch

Try a new restaurant and catch up on everything you missed while you were away at college.

11. Throw it back to middle school with a sleepover

A sleepover isnot complete without face masks and chick flicks.

12. Visit each other's college towns

This is another great excuse to have a road trip! Plus, you get to see your bestie's second home.

13. Go shopping

Your best friend was your main mall buddy in high school, so you know you'll have a great day.

14. For the adventurous best friends: go camping

Unplug from social media for the weekend, and don't forget to make some s'mores.

15. Have a photo shoot

I did this for my friend's senior pictures, and we had so much fun finding beautiful locations to snap some pics!

16. Be a tourist in your hometown

Go to museums, visit historical sites, and take touristy pictures. You might even learn something new about were you live.

17. Craft together

Get some inspiration from Pinterest, hit up Michael's, and spend the day crafting.

18. Try a new recreational activity

Go surfing, kayaking, or stand-up paddleboarding.

19. Get out old yearbooks and pictures together

Laugh and reminisce over the awkwardness.

20. Channel your inner child and go to the zoo or aquarium

You may be the only people over the age of 18, but you'll have just as much fun as the elementary school kids on their field trip.

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

Feeling Lost During Syllabus Week? You're Not Alone!

Kourtney Kardashian

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

panera bread

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
