20 Things You Did In 2007 That You Will Never Do Again
Francesca Manilla

2007 was a magical time. I am a personal believer that it is one of the best years from my childhood for music. This was the year that "Buy U A Drank," "Hate That I Love You," "Ima Flirt," "Kiss Kiss," "Beautiful Girls," "Misery Business," "Happy Ending," "Shawty," AND "Lip Gloss" came out. The amazing music, however, cannot blind me to the average lifestyle of an early teen in 2007. It got me thinking of these 20 things that I did in that year that I will never encounter myself doing again.

1. Wear the ICONIC outfit of a polo shirt (Hollister or Abercrombie), a jean skirt, leggings, and flats.

2. Go to the midnight release of "Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows"—the book.

3. Watch the premier of "High School Musical 2."

4. Be shocked/excited when you see that Miley Cyrus has a cameo in "High School Musical 2."

5. Try your hardest to not offend anyone with the order of your top eight, but also try to make it accurate so people know where they stand with you.

6. Make your friends listen to the new pop country singer Taylor Swift and her first few singles "Our Song" and "Teardrops on My Guitar."

7. Put just a simple "</3" in your away messages, text messages, and various profiles to be 'mysterious' and hope people ask you what's wrong. But tell them it's "NBD" when they ask.

8. Go through a scene phase/ say "rawr means I love you in dinosaur."

9. Spend hours learning HTML codes to create the perfect MySpace profile as if you were a master computer programmer.

10. Waste away watching the YouTube viral videos The Mysterious Ticking Noise, Miss South Carolina Answers a Question, or Leave Brittany Alone.

11. Take HIGH QUALITY profile pictures such as these:

12. Love Soulja Boy's "Crank That (Soulja Boy)" so much that you look up all of the popular "Crank Dat" parodies, such as "Crank Dat Spongebob," "Crank Dat Teletubbies," "Crank Dat Dora the Explorer."

13. Have away messages that consistently end with something along the lines of "text me," "u kno the digits, hmu," or "leave it or dont. w/e."

14. Spend hours being a 'n00b' on Runescape.

15. Send nudes on a flip phone (Just kidding, I didn't, because I was 12, but this was a thing for some of you nastys out there).

16. Always wear a Livestrong yellow rubber bracelet.

17. Watch MTV shows like "Next" and "Parental Control."

18. Have cell phone options such as the Razr (pink, red, silver, etc.), the enV (orange or silver), or the Chocolate (red, white or black.)

19. Change your MySpace song to "When You're Gone" by Avril Lavigne after your first boyfriend (of three days) broke up with you.

20. Share your "Buddy List" on AIM with everyone, and having everyone share theirs with you, despite having no idea who most of the screen names belong to.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
