Let’s face it. When you were just a little kid, summer time was so much better. You had all the free time in the world because school was out, you had tons of neighborhood friends to play with, and you were so care-free because what would you have to worry about at that age? Now, you probably have a big kid job or maybe you’re taking summer classes, and most the time you’re a bit stressed out, tired, and taking care of all the adult responsibilities you have. It can become hectic, so try to make a little time to unwind and relax, and take part in some care-free activities to remind you of the better days of your childhood.

1. Blow bubbles.

2. Draw with sidewalk chalk.

3. Ride your bike around the neighborhood.

4. Play on a slip-n-slide.

5. Feed the ducks, squirrels, birds, or whatever animals you liked as a kid.

6. Catch fireflies.

7. Do cartwheels and summersaults around the yard.

8. Build a sandcastle.

9. Run through the sprinkler.

10. Drink lemonade.

But skip the lemonade stand because it would look a little awkward if a 20 year old was selling lemonade on the side of the road).

11. Have a picnic.

12. Camp out in the backyard for a night.

13. Hula-hoop.

14. Eat three popsicles at the same time and feel no shame.

15. Go to the park and play at the playground.

16. Have a water balloon fight.

17. Hopscotch.

18. Go to the zoo or aquarium and take pictures with the animal statues.

19. Play tag, capture the flag, kickball, or whatever games you loved as a kid.

20. Lay in the grass and just enjoy the sunshine.

And there you have it. Throughout the summer, take some time to remember those carefree days of your childhood, and relax from the crazy work week through some sweet and innocent activities. You’ll remember why you loved them so much when you were younger, and you’ll have a little fun pretending you’re seven-years-old again, even if it’s just for a short while.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
