Circle of Love and Life

Breakups are hard and there is no question about that. The hardest part of it all is telling yourself that things get better. Sometimes to do that, you have to turn on your radio, put on some tunes and have a dance session with your best friend. Here are 20 songs to help you get through a breakup.

1. "Since U Been Gone" - Kelly Clarkson

This Kelly Clarkson classic is sure to help you through it. The lyrics "But since you been gone, I can breathe for the first time. I'm so moving on yeah, yeah...Thanks to you now I get what I want, since you been gone," speak to a whole new level of freedom.

2. "Single Ladies" - Beyoncé

This is a classic that HAD to be on this list. Here are the famous lines: "All the single ladies all the single ladies. Now put your hands up, up in the club, we just broke up, I'm doing my own little thing.

3. "Big Girls Don't Cry"- Fergie

Fergie tells this heart-felt song of a girl feeling like she can't find her way. The lyrics are, "I hope you know, I hope you know, that this has nothing to do with you. It's personal, myself and I, we've got some straightenin' out to do. And I'm gonna miss you like a child misses their blanket, but I've got to get a move on with my life. It's time to be a big girl now and big girls don't cry."

4. "Sorry" - Beyoncé

Beyoncé may have written this to Jay Z, but I think that it could've been written by any post-breakup broken heart. "Middle fingers up, put them hands high. Wave it in his face, tell 'em boy bye."

5. "Man! I Feel Like A Woman" - Shania Twain

This one was recommended by a guy, so it had to be included in the list. "Let's go girls, come on. I'm going out tonight, I'm feelin' alright, gonna let it all hang out. Want to make some noise, really raise my voice, yeah, I want to scream and shout."

6. "Survior" - Destiny's Child

Destiny's Child makes sure that every person knows that they will be okay after the tough breakup. The lyrics are, "I'm a survivor, I'm not gon' give up. I'm not gon' stop. I'm gon' work harder. I'm a survivor. I'm gonna make it. I will survive. Keep on survivin'."

7. "Rolling in the Deep" - Adele

Adele always seems like an expert in how to heal a broken heart. "They keep me thinking that we almost had it all. The scars of your love, they leave me breathless, I can't help feeling, we could have had it all."

8. "Irreplaceable" - Beyoncé

A lot more sassy than some, Beyoncé makes sure that it is known she can find someone else. "You must not know 'bout me, you must not know 'bout me. I can have another you by tomorrow, so don't you ever for a second get to thinking you're irreplaceable."

9. "Complicated" - Avril Lavigne

Avril Lavigne might be a thing of the past, but her helpless breakup songs really hit the spot. "Why do you have to go and make things so complicated? I see the way you're acting like you're somebody else, gets me frustrated."

10. "Best Thing I Never Had" - Beyoncé

Beyoncé never fails. Never. "I wanted you bad. I'm so through with that
'Cause honestly you turned out to be the (best thing I never had)."

11. "Forget You" - Cee Lo Green

A feisty favorite from a guy's perspective. "See you driving 'round town with the girl I love and I'm like forget you (Ooh, ooh, ooh). I guess the change in my pocket wasn't enough, I'm like forget you, and forget her too."

12. "Independent Woman" - Destiny's Child

The second song by Destiny's Child is sure to not disappoint. The lyrics are: "All the women, who are independent, throw your hands up at me. All the honeys, who making money, throw your hands up at me."

13. "Mama's Broken Heart" - Miranda Lambert

This song describes a mom's opinion to the madness of a breakup. "Go and fix your make up, girl, it’s just a break up. Run and hide your crazy and start actin’ like a lady 'cause I raised you better, gotta keep it together even when you fall apart."

14. "So What" - Pink

This Pink song shows a girl who is going through life on her own, a little confused, but ready to be on her own. The lyrics are: "So, so what? I'm still a rock star. I got my rock moves and I don't need you. And guess what, I'm having more fun and now that we're done, I'm gonna show you tonight."

15. "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" - Taylor Swift

And here it is. This could not be a complete playlist without Taylor Swift and her breakup songs. "I'm really gonna miss you picking fights, and me falling for it screaming that I'm right. And you would hide away and find your peace of mind with some indie record that's much cooler than mine."

16. "Gives You Hell" - The All-American Rejects

A more bitter approach to a breakup, the All-American Rejects are sure to make you scream and shout while singing their lyrics. "And truth be told I miss you. And truth be told I'm lying. When you see my face, hope it gives you hell, hope it gives you hell."

17. "Feeling Myself" - Nicki Minaj

This one if for you after the breakup. You might not think you look good, but Nicki will change your mind about yourself real quick. The song is a little repetitive, but that's the point. "I'm feelin' myself, I'm feelin' myself
I'm feelin' my, feelin' myself."

18. "DONE." - The Band Perry

The Band Perry shows what happens when someone is taken advantage of for a little too long. Don't let that happen to you. "Mama always told me that I should play nice. She didn't know you when she gave me that advice. I'm through, with you. You're one bridge I'd like to burn, bottle up the ashes, smash the urn. I'm through with you, la ti da."

19. "Bulletproof" - La Roux

This one highlights the important lessons that you should have learned from your bad relationship. With every relationship, you learn to be stronger and stronger. "This time, baby, I'll be bulletproof. I won't let you turn around and tell me now I'm much too proud to walk away from something when it's dead."

20. "Love Yourself" - Justin Bieber

And, the most important thing to learn from a breakup: you have to learn to love yourself, because you are the most important person out there. "'Cause if you like the way you look that much, oh, baby, you should go and love yourself.
And if you think that I'm still holdin' on to somethin' you should go and love yourself."

I hope you enjoyed this post-breakup playlist. It will be sure to help you get through this tough time in your life.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

Sophia Palmerine

Dear High School Friend Group,

My sweet angels, where would I be without you guys. We all grew up together because we either met in middle school or high school and watched each other grow up and get "old." We got to go to prom together and then graduate together. Then watched each other as we continued our lives in college, joining sororities and meeting people who will impact our lives forever. It all has happened so fast.
