It's weird how music can bring back a certain memory. For example, every time I hear "Buy You A Drank" by T-Pain, it reminds me of fifth grade when I used to sing it on the playground with all my friends (and yes, I am still confused as to why I even knew that song at ten years old). So, I decided to look through some old playlists and find the ones that reminded me the most of my awkward years.

Try not to cry.

1. "Fergalicious" - Fergie

Don't even pretend that you weren't a pro at her rap chorus.

2. "Bye Bye Bye" - Nsync

100% chance that you physically waved goodbye every time you sang this song.

3. "Just Lose It" - Eminem

Annnnd pretty much any other Eminem song.

4. "In Da Club" - 50 Cent

Everyone's birthday song.

5. "Yeah!" - Usher

Take that, rewind it back. (Insert name) got the beat to make your booty go *clap*.

6. "Dirty Little Secret" - The All-American Rejects

Like any elementary schooler singing this actually had any dirty little secrets.

7. "Hot In Herre" - Nelly

Still everyone's favorite song to sing when anyone mentions being hot.

8. "Bad Day" - Daniel Powter

The Alvin & The Chipmunks cover kinda ruined it, but nonetheless still makes you fondly remember your awkward years.

9. "Beautiful Soul" - Jesse McCartney

Every girl's first crush. Whatever happened to him anyways?

10. "Gold Digger" - Kanye West

The clean version, of course. The good ol' days before Kanye became a douche :)

11. "Complicated" - Avril Lavigne

If this isn't nostalgic enough on it's own, just know I sang it at my first grade talent show.

12. "Hollaback Girl" - Gwen Stefani

The only reason that every time you spell bananas you have to sing B...A-N-A-N-A-S

13. "DONTTRUSTME" - 3OH!3

Weirdest song ever, but for some reason it was on everyone's Myspace profile.

14. "No Air" - Jordan Sparks & Chris Brown

The awkward song you danced to with your crush in middle school.

15. "Toxic" - Britney Spears

Classic. Still don't really understand all the words, though.

16. "Get Low" - Ying Yang Twins

This song is over 14 years old and can still get any party hype. Bravo.

17. "Drop It Like It's Hot" - Snoop Dogg

Still creepy, just like Snoop.

18. "Crank That (Souljia Boy)" - Souljia Boy

Knowing this dance was like a rite of passage in your pre-teen years.

19. "I Want It That Way" - Backstreet Boys

Never gets old.

20. "Leave" - JoJo

That song every girl sang in the mirror to their non-existent boyfriend.

The funniest part is that one day, our kids will judge us for singing every word to these when their friends are in the car. To this day, I still laugh at my parents for the songs they love that defined their adolescent years. (Sorry Mom!) Hopefully my kids will appreciate my taste in music. ;-)

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
