The 2000s were a great time for pop music. So many of the hit songs that came out during this decade have stood the test of time and are still popular today. Artists like Justin Timberlake, the Black Eyed Peas, Beyonce, Amy Winehouse, and so many others were blazing their way onto the music scene and coming out with hit after hit. Songs like "Sexy Back" and "Remix To Ignition" will forever be on our party playlists, but not all of our favorite songs from the 2000s could stand the test of time. In fact, some of them have been completely forgotten about. Here are 20 songs from the 2000s that you've forgotten about, but that you need back in your life.
1. Shaggy - "Wasn't Me" (2000)
A classic to say the least. If you didn't try to imitate Shaggy's voice while saying "wasn't me" at least once in your life, your childhood was missing something.
2. Mario - "Let Me Love You" (2004)
Let's be honest, who wouldn't let Mario love them in the early 2000s? His dance moves alone would get all the ladies.
3. Hilary Duff - "Come Clean" (2003)
You may not have forgotten about this song, but it doesn't get nearly enough credit for how big it was. Everyone knows this song, everyone loves this song, but it's like we've all turned our backs on it. The music video is pure gold. Everyone wanted to hang out with Hilary Duff in her fancy house when this first came out.
4. Madonna - "Hung Up" (2005)
Madonna puts younger pop stars to shame in this music video. Also, this song is still really catchy, and I'm not quite sure why it didn't stand the test of time.
5. The Black Eyed Peas - "Don't Phunk With My Heart" (2005)
This music video is ridiculous, but what else would you expect from The Black Eyed Peas? "Don't Phunk With My Heart" is one of The Black Eyed Peas' most underrated songs, in my opinion. Lets get rid of "Time Of Our Lives" and take this song back instead.
6. Cassie - "Me & U" (2006)
You couldn't escape this song when it first came out, and now people barely remember it.
7. Unk - "Walk It Out" (2006)
While this song can be kind of annoying, it definitely defines 2000s music.
8. Jibbs - "Chain Hang Low" (2006)
Again, another song that can be annoying, but it was so popular it's hard to believe it's barely played anymore.
9. Omarion - Ice Box (2006)
This song was one of my personal favorites when growing up. As an added bonus the music video is pretty entertaining.
10. Danity Kane - "Show Stopper" (2006)
Does anybody know what happened to Danity Kane?
11. Vanessa Hudgens - "Say Okay" (2006)
Every High School Musical fan freaked out when they found out Zac Effron was the co-star in this music video.
12. Mika - "Grace Kelly" (2007)
This is one of the catchier songs you will ever listen to. This is definitely a song that needs to be brought back from the dead.
13. Ashley Tisdale - "He Said She Said" (2007)
Ashley Tisdale was the first Disney star to go rogue with this boundary pushing music video.
14. Kat DeLuna - "Whine Up" (2007)
Another catchy song that everyone knew. Featuring Elephant Man made this song even better.
15. Chris Brown - "With You" (2007)
"With You" was pretty much the quintessential first slow dance song. Chris Brown has had a lot of hits since this one, but in my opinion, this song is one of his best.
16. Mims - "This Is Why I'm Hot" (2007)
This was the song you played if you wanted to look cool.
17. Sean Kingston - "Take You There" (2007)
A follow up to Sean Kingston's more popular "Beautiful Girls," but more catchy in my opinion. I still jam out to this song every time I hear it.
18. Ne-Yo - "Closer" (2008)
I really don't understand why this song isn't just as popular today as when it first came out. It's such a great pop song.
19. T.I. - "Whatever You Like" (2008)
This music video is so cute. And this song is also so catchy. Every girl wanted a T.I. in her life in 2008.
20. Nelly - "Grillz" (2010)
This song really made grills a pop culture phenomenon in 2010. Everyone secretly wanted a set after this music video came out.
As you can see, there's a reason why some of these songs have been forgotten about, but you know you knew all of the words to at least one of them. I hope you enjoyed watching and listening to these music videos as much as I did while making this list.
