20 Small Things to be Thankful For

We always recognize the huge things we should be thankful for this season like pets, cars, diamonds, but lets just take a tiny moment to recognize the small things we should notice and be thankful for.

1. Your headphones, for those few times you've dropped your phone and they were the real MVP and saved your screen from shattering.

2. When your dog doesn't bark as you come home way past your curfew.

3. When you're about to sneeze after putting on a fresh coat of mascara, but your body holds it in.

4. Your professors for believing you were really sick those days you slept through your class.

5. Spotify premium discount for students.

6. Cold pizza waiting for you at home for those nights you get the drunkies.

7. Discounted Halloween candy.

8. When the eyeliner on your left eye matches your eyeliner on the right eye.

9. Award shows.

10. Your screen protector for taking one for the team and shattering, saving your actual screen.

11. Finally finding that song you've had stuck in your head but didn't know the name of.

12. When your chip to dip ratio is on point.

13. When you remember you have a four day weekend and your week ends after Wednesday.

14. Getting tagged in the most relatable memes.

15. When you run a red light but no one comes after you and you don't see a flash.

16. Victoria's Secret 7 for $25 sale.

17. When you actually get the chip vs. swiping correct on the first try.

18. When you thought you had to parallel park but found a pull in spot.

19. Hearing loose change in the dryer that you just put your clothes in.

20. When you find a whole test on Quizlet.

Although we may be thankful for many of the larger things in life, we also have to remember to be thankful for these small relatable things that I know you all laughed about as you read this well thought out list. Happy Thanksgiving from yours truly.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
