It is very rare for people in today’s society to be able to step back from the chaos of their busy lifestyles and actually appreciate the little things that keep them going. Though we might not always acknowledge them, it’s safe to say that these simple pleasures in life are priceless.

1. Finishing a workout.

Though some days we may not always want to do it, you cannot help but feel a sense of extreme pride after finishing a great workout. Now, you can go enjoy that donut you’ve been craving!

2. Walking into a cool, air-conditioned room.

“Ahhhhhhh.”

3. Getting water out of your ear.

Finally, you can hear without feeling like an entire gallon of water is swishing around in your ear!

4. Laying in freshly cleaned sheets.

Probably the best feeling in the world, actually.

5. Getting something unstuck from between your teeth.

The relief when you finally get that piece of popcorn from 18 hours ago out between your two front teeth. Wow, phenomenal.

6. Taking off your shoes at the end of the day.

No more pain, thank you Jesus.

7. Having the song that you’ve been wanting to listen to come on shuffle.

It’s always the best having a song you like come on, but when it’s a song you’ve been dying to listen to, that makes it ten times even better. You know the music gods have spoken to you today.

8. Drinking really cold water when you’re thirsty.

You chug that ice cold water bottle.

9. Catching food before it falls on the floor.

Catlike reflexes, baby!

10. Good hair days.

They don’t come around too often, so savor every second of it.

11. Clear skin days.

Again, super rare so make the most out of it.

12. Getting your picture taken and actually being happy with how it turned out.

New profile picture? I think yes! Probably won’t be another year until you get a pic you like again, so go for it.

13. Taking a really long nap.

You know you had some deep sleep when you wake up super confused and think it’s a completely different day.

14. Putting lotion on dry skin.

Especially after you just shaved your legs.

15. Making a great meal all by yourself.

Eating healthy is great, but when you actually make that meal with your own two hands, it makes it especially more satisfying.

16. When your underwear and bra match.

You know it’s going to be a good day when this happens.

17. Finishing a book/show and actually enjoying the ending.

Wow, thanks for not ruining my life with some super dramatic, sad cliffhanger for once!

18. Making it to the end of the week.

Friday never comes soon enough.

19. When a complete stranger smiles or does something nice for you.

Thank you, kind soul, for not being miserable in public like the rest of us!

20. Really amazing hugs.

Never appreciated enough. Of course, you need to find an amazing hugger first, but when you do, it’s one of the best feelings in the world. A great hug can turn your entire day around!

In case you're unaware, "resting bitch face" is the term used to describe when a person's natural, expressionless face makes it look like they are mad at the world. Whether they are walking down the street or simply spacing out thinking about what to eat for dinner, it's very easy for others to assume that this person is either upset or mad at them. Because of this, those of us with Resting Bitch Face (RBF), and especially us women, have all experienced many of the same situations and conversations, including:

We've all had a crush before. Whether it leads to something or nothing, the process has all been the same. The awkward feelings, the stalking, and the stress of trying to keep this huge secret. The feeling of becoming a total spazz is something that cannot be avoided, and the most spazzy family that can relate to this feeling is the Belcher's.

At the tender age of 18, we are bestowed with the title of “adult.” For 17 years, we live under the rules and guidelines of our parents, school, and government, and to stray from any of those rules or guidelines marks us as a rebel. At 18, though, we must choose which college we want to go to or what career we want. We are allowed and encouraged to vote. We can buy lottery tickets and cigarettes. We can drop out of school, leave our household, and do other "adult" things. At 18, we start down a path of thinking for ourselves, when for the entirety of our lives other institutions have been mandated to think and do for us.

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.
