1. You live within 15 minutes of 4 different malls (GSP, Paramus Park, Tices Corner, Bergen Town Outlets, Riverside Square, the list goes on and on).

2. You refer to New York City as simply "the city."

3. You know someone who knows one of the Real Housewives of New Jersey.

4. You went to IHA, AHA, Bergen, Bosco, St. Joes or know several people that went there.

5. 90% of your high school parking lot was filled with Range Rovers, BMWs, and Audis.

6. You usually finish your night/start your day at a diner (drunk, hungover, or sober).

7. You talk about how the pizza and BECS/TECS are only good in the 201.

8. You get super offended when people from college ask you if Jersey is really like the Jersey Shore.

9. Going to the town of Ridgewood on the weekends is practically a routine.

10. You go to the Res multiple times during the fall, spring, and summer.

11. When you say you're from Northern New Jersey and people ask if you know any towns in Central/South Jersey, the answer is always no.

12. You never go to the beach, you go down the shore.

13.If you went to public school, you were always jealous of how many snow days the private schools would get.

14. You LOVE to shop at Suite 201 but it always breaks the bank.

15. Almost all of the guys own at least one piece of Vineyard Vines clothing (not complaining though).

16. You almost always take Route 17 to get to your friends' houses (and somehow there is always traffic at every point in the day).

17.Your Friday nights/Saturdays in the fall consisted of high school football games.

18. You've gone to AT LEAST one Sweet 16 at the Brownstone.

19. Most of your friends go to college in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, or Rhode Island.

20. Bergen County will always be your home and you know that no place will ever compare to the 201.

When I was learning how to talk, I was taught both Portuguese and English at the same time. In elementary school, I started taking mandatory Spanish classes, which I did well in because of my knowledge of Portuguese. Then in high school, on top of taking Spanish, I also started taking French. Now, in college, already fluent in English and Portuguese, I'm in the process of becoming fluent in Spanish, and I have a standard high school level understanding of French.
