20 Signs Your Fitbit Might Be Controlling Your Life

Every day I'm "workweek hustling."

20 Signs Your Fitbit Might Be Controlling Your Life

To the "Fitbit fam." The people whose lives are all being controlled by a little bracelet constantly strapped to their "less dominant" wrist. We all have seen these signs and know that Fitbit has truly taken over our lives, and yet we just keep on stepping.

Here's to 20 of the many signs that just might show that Fitbits are controlling our lives.

1. When you don't get out of bed when your Fitbit is charging because steps just don't matter.

2. When you find yourself running around in circles at 11:50 p.m.

3. When you lose your charger and then your entire workweek hustle goes down the drain.

4. When friendly Fitbit competition turns into one brutal step battle.

5. When you're always the last one to sync your Fitbit to let the anticipation sink in.

6. When you just feel naked without it.

7. When there's always that one Fitbit user everyone wants to beat.

8. When you're pissed when the workweek hustle fills up too quickly.

9. When you'll literally do anything to get to 10,000 steps.

10. When you don't go out on a Friday night without your Fitbit on.

11. When even at fancy gatherings your Fitbit is always an accessory.

12. When you realize a lot of your conversations are now about how many steps you take each day.

13. When you wear it while you sleep and always wonder how you're still getting steps.

14. When you know today is going to be a lazy day if you just decide not to put it on.

15. When you forget it and your whole life becomes a giant stepping lie.

16. When you get a new badge and everyone bows down to you. (Or at least that's what you want.)

17. When you've contemplated strapping your Fitbit to a pet in order to get steps.

18. When winning a step competition means endless bragging rights.

19. When your "Fitbit fam" becomes like an exclusive club and no knock offs are ever allowed.

20. When you reminisce about how much simpler life was without it, but you still don't care.

To my Fitbit fam: although it's truly a love/hate relationship, never stop "Workweek Hustling" your way through life.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
