1. The Big Rutter’s being built was one of the greatest things that happened to our town. Bye bye to the Rutter’s on Main Street, and hello to a whole new world of gasoline and mac-and-cheese bites.
2. You know what Rutter’s even is.
3. As a kid (and definitely still as an adult) during the summer you visited Summers practically every day for ice cream or a snoball (not the same as a snow cone).
4. You know every policeman, firefighter, EMT or any person in the emergency services by name.
5. You loved going to Saubel’s as a kid because it had a train that went around the store while you shopped. (You also probably worked here at some point in your life)
6. It was always a family battle to decide if you were going to get your pizza from Messina’s or Original’s at dinnertime (even though there is one clear choice).
7. You’ve heard rumors about the railroad working, but have never actually seen a train enter or leave those tracks, and you actually just use the railroad station as a place to sit and eat your ice cream from Summers.
8. Your heart belongs to China Wok and no other Chinese restaurant.
9. You grew up taking “field trips” down the street from the elementary school to the police station, the old library, and to the post office.
10. You low-key have always wanted to break into the creepy, colorful old movie theater on Main Street to see what it’s all about.
11. You’ve spent many mornings drinking the best cup of coffee around, and eating overpriced breakfast in Taylor Haus.
12. You spent your winters sledding at the hill on Camelot field, where you also played rec soccer with the rest of the town.
13. When the carnival is in town you know that there is a 100% chance you’ll run into: your old 3rd grade teacher, your friends from high school that you’ve lost touch with, your middle school bus driver, the guy who’s name you can’t remember from up the street, and every other human being that has ever been to, lived in, or heard about Stewartstown.
14. When people ask you where you’re from, you just say “the Maryland line” because unless you’re from Stewartstown, you’ve never heard of it.
15. You can never get away with doing something sneaky without your parents finding out because everyone knows everyone and someone is always watching you.
16. You used to rent your DVD’s, video games, and VHS movies from Video Tymes, and the guy that ran it knew you by name.
17. Basically all of your friends, or you, lived in the station and were neighbors.
18. When you moved to middle school you were so hype about getting to meet the kids from the other two districts.
19. You graduated high school with the same group of friends and people you were in kindergarten with.
20. You’ve complained about living in the middle of nowhere at least 100 times, but wouldn’t change it for the world.
