20 Signs You Grew Up In Marin County

Marin County, CA is a wonderful county that is north of the Golden Gate Bridge spanning from Sausalito to Novato. I couldn't imaging growing up anywhere else. Here are some signs that you definitely grew up in Marin:

1. You wear a Patagonia/Northface puffy when it's 50 degrees.

We're wimpy when it comes to the cold and that's okay.

2. No one knows where Marin is so you just say you're from San Francisco.

Well, technically, I live 20 minutes from the Golden Gate Bridge so like not actually San Francisco.

3. Novato is considered another "country"

"It's SO FAR that you have to bring your passport with you" - oldest joke ever

4. When there's nothing to do, we all resort to the Bon Air Parking Lot.

Whether it's figuring out what to do or a party just got wrapped, the biggest party of them all is the masses of cars that meet in the Bon Air Parking Lot.

5. Everyone is obsessed with Sol Food.

Minus my sisters (who for some odd reason don't like it), Sol Food is one of the biggest restaurants to run into an old friend, classmate, or your worst enemy. Melting pot of people! But, also such good food that's so worth the line.

6. You're still upset about Fifi's Diner closing.

Best chicken (dino) nuggets I've ever had in my life. Such a shame.

7. "Ski week" is actually when you ski.

Catch all of Marin in Tahoe for Ski Week.

8. Tahoe on the Fourth or it didn't happen.

Once again, all of Marin.

9. You only drive to Fairfax for Mana Bowls.

Surf Bowl anyone? Marin is not a beach town that has tons of acai bowl places like San Diego has, but it tries. Mana Bowl is your basic acai place and IT'S SO GOOD.

10. Summer=Stinson

The long curvy drive to this cute little seaside town/beach. Great memories.

11. You've taken a photo on the swing at Kirby Cove.

I don't even understand how it became such a hot spot to go, but it's absolutely stunning to get a view of the beautiful bridge.

12. You take great pride in saying your teams are the Warriors and the Giants.

Even though you really only root/pay attention when they're winning.

13. Mt. Tam Bolinas Ridge is solely referred to as "Sunset"

When the fog perfectly sets over the horizon of the sunset, it is one of the most beautiful sites in Marin.

13. Marin Moms.

All Lulu errythang, doesn't work, Soul Cycle, Range Rover, Woodlands Market..

14. Everyone knew everyone.

Schools were pretty tiny in general, compared to other high schools, so everyone knew everyone and everyone's business. There are pros and cons to that.

15. You've posted at least one picture with the bridge in the background to show your appreciation for where you live.

I mean, people travel the world to see the bridge. We are pretty DAMN lucky.

16. Northgate was the place to hang out when you were in middle school.

If you know, you know.

17. Rustic Bakery.

Do I need to say more?

18. You know that parking in Downtown San Rafael is no fun.

I get so frustrated... lol

19. Marin Catholic had the best football team.

Yeah, we know. Not to mention, we had Jared Goff.

20. But, we couldn't be happier living in one of the most beautiful counties in the world.

If I have learned one thing in my lifetime, it is that friends are a privilege. No one is required to give you their company and yet there is some sort of shared connection that keeps you together. And from that friendship, you may even find yourself lucky enough to have a few more friends, thus forming a group. Here are just a few signs that prove your current friend group is the ultimate friend group.

When it comes to television, there’s very few sets of on-screen siblings that a lot of us can relate to. Only those who have grown up with siblings knows what it feels like to fight, prank, and love a sibling. Ross and Monica Geller were definitely overbearing and overshared some things through the series of "Friends," but they captured perfectly what real siblings feel in real life. Some of their antics were funny, some were a little weird but all of them are completely relatable to brothers and sisters everywhere.

College is a great place to meet people, especially through Greek life. If you look closely at sororities, you'll quickly see there are many different types of girls you will meet.

1. The Legacy.

Her sister was a member, her mom was a member, all of her aunts were members, and her grandma was a member. She has been waiting her whole life to wear these letters and cried hysterically on bid day. Although she can act entitled at times, you can bet she is one of the most enthusiastic sisters.

Every kid in college and/or high school dreams of summer the moment they walk through the door on the first day back in September. It becomes harder and harder to focus in classes and while doing assignments as the days get closer. The winter has been lagging, the days are short and dark, and no one is quite themselves due to lack of energy and sunlight. Let's face it: life is ten times better in the summertime.
