20 Signs That You Miss Your Sorority

Summer vacation is GREAT, but I have been missing my sorority a lot recently. I miss always having someone to talk to or hang out with. Reuniting with all of my sisters is one of the things I'm looking forward to the most in the fall. Here are some signs that you're missing your sorority too:

1. Eating dinner with less than 40 people just doesn't cut it.

2. You miss having a buddy for literally ANYTHING (including, but not limited to: going to the gym, getting brunch, or even just grocery shopping).

3. You have already started making canvases for your future little.

4. Watching the Bachelorette just isn't the same without them, but GroupMe commentating will have to suffice for the summer.

5. You still wear your sorority t shirts, but it's just not the same when you don't spot at least 10 other sisters wearing the same one.

6. 75% of your GroupMe is everyone saying how much they miss each other.

7. You miss seeing all of the pledge classes together for chapter.

8. Any time you happen to see one of your sisters it automatically brightens your day.

9. You are already excited for rush. (Even when you know that sleep depravation will ensue.)

10. You have already thought about what theme your next date function should be.

11. Looking at pictures from Bid Day and Big Sis Week gives you major feels.

12. You have thought about how you and some of your sisters will coordinate Halloween costumes.

13. You are already planning on weekend day trips for you and your sisters.

Carter's Grove, Humpback Rock, and IX Art Park are definitely on my list.

14. Your main use for Pinterest this summer has been finding sorority crafts.

15. When you look at the home football schedule, you think of tailgates and game day pictures with your sisters.

16. You speak to anyone who is wearing your sorority's letters.

17. Any time anyone asks you about your sorority, you can't stop talking about it.

18. You miss chilling at the house together (and all of the funny conversations that ensued.)

19. You can't wait for your philanthropy event!

You wouldn't want to be chalking, waking up at 5:00 AM to paint Beta Bridge, and spending the day raising money with anyone else but your sisters.

20. You can't wait until your sisters are a walk down the street rather than a road trip away.

I know that I miss my sorority so much. I don't miss it for the formals, the date functions, or the social events. I miss it for the sisters who have become some of my best friends, my support group, and the girls who inspire me to be a better person every day.

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

Syllabus Week As Told By Kourtney Kardashian

Feeling Lost During Syllabus Week? You're Not Alone!

Kourtney Kardashian

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

panera bread

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
