I believe in destiny. I believe everything happens for a reason, and that if something is meant to be, it will eventually happen. But I also believe we have the possibility to change our paths -- at least for now. My theory is that we have options, and for every option we take we are given more options. At the end, you will be exactly where you are supposed to, but how you live your life depends on what path you take.
For a while, I would sit down and wait for things to happen. After all, our destiny is sealed. There is a theory that says that your soul is divided into two, and each half goes to a body. You are destined to be with your other half, your soul mate and, no matter what, you will end up being with the person who is meant to be with you. How much money you will make, where you will end up living and how many kids you will have is also written down. Even how you will die. So I thought, what is the point in fighting? If a greater force wants me to fail, I will fail; and if it wants me to succeed, I will succeed.
Boy, I was wrong. Even if you are meant to do certain things and be with certain people, you are the one who has control over what will happen in the meantime. Your actions will shape your future and will make it a better/worse place. It takes courage, 20 seconds of insane courage to be precise, to achieve great things. The worst thing that could happen is that you fail or things don't turn out the way you wanted, but if you don't try you are failing already.
Yes, I believe there is a destiny. But I believe in 20 seconds of courage to get there.
