We often live life confined by the walls we build around us. We wait for someone to knock them down in order to show them who we really are. When the walls are broke down we are our authentic selves with no reservation confining us.
What if the walls you built up are too tough for another to break down? The one thing that stops us from knocking these walls we built to protect is our fear. Fear of what you might ask? Fear of the unknown, fear of the future that is still not seen and fear of ourselves and who we are.
What if you took the fear that is holding you back and said the things that you wish you would have said, acted on situations that you wish you would have acted on and took the chances you may have missed? How would your life look then?
Courage is a difficult word to define because it is subjective to each individual and how they view the term. Regardless of how you interpret the word each person can use it to their own success and happiness. Courage may mean something different to each person, but with the first step of courage is a step toward progress. That progress might be toward a goal you have set, toward personal growth in character or toward something in your future you might not know of yet. With each step of courage comes something greater than you could imagine. It seems uneasy to jump right out with 150% confidence and courage, but I can assure you that the step you take could lead you to something beautiful on the other side.
“You know, sometimes all you need is twenty seconds of insane courage. Just literally twenty seconds of just embarrassing bravery. And I promise you, something great will come of it.” -Benjamin Mee
