20 Reasons To be Excited For Fall

As summer comes to an end, students everywhere with a non-air-conditioned dorm are anxiously awaiting the cold weather. Autumn is my absolute favorite season, so the fact that it's right around the corner makes me excited for all the things associated with it. The amount of activities, fashion, and food opportunities fall has to offer are endless. Whether you're all cuddled up watching a scary movie or jumping around in the leaves outside like a little kid, there's something everyone is bound to love about the season. Here are 20 reasons why you should be excited for fall:

1. Sweater weather

Everyone is aware that sweater weather is the best weather. There's nothing more comfortable than an oversized, fluffy knit sweater.

2. Scarves

While we're on the topic of clothing, scarves are the perfect addition to any fall outfit. Just check every Pinterest post.

3. Boots

Uggs, riding boots, combat boots, etc. They all pair easily with leggings or jeans for the perfect fall look.

4. Leaves

You're lying to yourself if you say you hate jumping into a huge pile of leaves.

5. Pumpkin picking/carving

Is it really fall if you don't have a little friendly sibling rivalry on who can find/carve the best pumpkin?

6. Hayrides

Whether you're with a sibling, friends, family, or a significant other, hayrides never get old.

7. Caramel apples

With nuts, Oreo's, M&M's, marshmallows, or just plain. Take your pick.

8. Halloween

It's the only holiday where you can pretend to be someone you're not and actually get away with it.

9. Halloween movie marathons

Disney Channel's Wiztober (which is now being called Monstober, because they love destroying our childhood) and Freeform (formerly ABC Family, again they love ruining our childhood) are really the only marathons that are important.

10. Pumpkin spice EVERYTHING

Lattes, candles, hand soap, muffins, pie, even alcohol–there is something pumpkin spice for people of all ages.

11. Hot chocolate

Because what other warm drink are you gonna have when you've already had three pumpkin spice lattes in one day?

12. Rolling yourself into a blanket burrito

There's no better way to lay on the couch.

13. Scary movie nights with friends

Not particularly my favorite night, but somehow I always get sucked into it. Always.

14. Fall colors

I'm pretty sure my suitemate has a collection of nail polish that consists solely of fall colors.

15. Flannels

Although it could be argued that flannels work during every season, there is no denying they work best during this one. They go so perfectly with a scarf and combat boots!

16. Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving may be my favorite holiday solely because of all the food, and I don't even touch the turkey.

17. Fuzzy socks

These babies are the equivalent of a sweater for your feet.

18. Black Friday and Cyber Monday

Okay, I understand if you don't want to participate in Black Friday because really, no one likes to get into fights with middle-aged moms over the last one of whatever the latest toy is. However, if you don't take advantage of Cyber Monday, you aren't truly living.

19. Haunted houses

You haven't been to a real haunted house until you've been to Fear Factory in New Zealand.

20. NO MORE BUGS!

After a lot of bug spray and running for dear life from bees on multiple occasions, the end is near.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
