20 Reasons I'm Excited For Disney World
Travel Digg

For Valentine's Day, my boyfriend and I are going to the happiest place on Earth: Disney World! More specifically, Disney's Magic Kingdom in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.

As you can imagine, I'm pretty stoked. The magic of Disney knows no age, and I have tons of reasons to be excited. But to save you the time, here's 20 of them.

1. Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin

‘Cause I get to shoot things. And it’s glow in the dark. ‘Nuff said.

2. Cinderella’s Magic Castle

In case I don’t already feel enough like a princess, I can always stand under the castle.

3. Space Mountain

A glow in the dark roller coaster that makes you feel as if you are flying through the stars? What more could you want?

4. Pirates of the Caribbean

Preteen Anna definitely had a crush on Jack Sparrow, and loved pirates. Wait, did I say preteen Anna? I meant adult Anna, too.

5. The Spinning Teacups

You better believe I am going to spin around as fast as humanly possible. And it is going to be glorious.

6. Splash Mountain

No matter how many times you ride it, you always get that rush of adrenaline you get as you splash down, thinking you are going to hit the brier patch.

7. Mickey ear popsicles

I am not leaving Disney World without enjoying one of the signature Mickey shaped, vanilla ice cream popsicles covered in chocolate. It's a necessity.

8. Mickey pretzels

And while we are on the topic of Mickey shaped foodie gloriousness, let's not forget those amazing pretzels.

9. The nighttime parade

One of my earliest memories is sitting on my dad's shoulders as all my favorite princes and princesses marched on by, smiling and waving at me.

10. The Haunted Mansion

As a child, it’s terrifying. But as an adult, the monsters are all pretty darn cute. Kinda creepy. But mainly cute.

11. The ferry boat ride

Because as you stand on that boat, crowded with other excited guests, you see a world of magic and wonder across the lake from you. The anticipation makes it all the much more special once you finally arrive.

12. Monster’s Inc. Laugh Floor

Make ‘em laugh, make ‘em laugh, don’t you know the whole world loves to laugh? And what better place to laugh than at Magic Kingdom?

13. Shopping

I am going to leave Magic Kingdom with more Mickey ears, Minnie aprons, Disney character keychains and Moana action figures than can fit in my suitcase.

14. The Swiss Family Treehouse

You know how #relationshipgoals is a hashtag? Well, the Swiss Family Treehouse is without a doubt #treehousegoals. If my childhood treehouse had looked like that, I never would have left.

15. Casey's Corner

Did you think I was done with food? Cause I'm not. Enormous hot dogs. That is all.

16. Main Street Bakery

Still not done with the food. Calories don't count in Disney, and I plan on getting a majoirty of my unlimited calories from the Disney-themed fudges and cookies you can only find at the Main Street Bakery.

17. Disney-themed decorations.

It’s pretty exciting to walk around and randomly see the lanterns and tower from Tangled, or King Triton from The Little Mermaid.

18. Meeting Disney characters.

Imagine meeting Gaston and telling him what a weenie he is. Or meeting Ariel and telling her about your thingamabob collection. Or meeting Sleeping Beauty to discuss your shared enthusiasm for sleep. All that and more is possible at Disney's Magic Kingdom.

19. Aladdin's Magic Carpet Ride

As a kid, I always dreamed of seeing the world on the back of a magic carpet like Jasmine and Aladdin. This is as close as I will get without suffering some major whiplash.

20. My boyfriend!

As if Disney wasn't magic enough already, I get to experience it with my Prince Charming. Our fairytale is the best Disney story of all time.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

singing
Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
