Ellen Degeneres is kinda sorta the most amazing human being to ever walk planet Earth.

She can always guarantee to make you laugh when you don't want to, or even cry when you are least expecting it. Her captivating personality is one of a kind, and she has a way of making you want to be a better person. Honestly, there are not enough words to explain how awesome Ellen is because she is EVERYTHING and here are 20 reasons why:


1. For starters, she can brighten just about anyone's day with her contagious positivity.


2. ...and her sense of humor, of course.


3. She is probably the most confident human in the world.


4. She channels her inner child and finds humor in scaring people.


5. She has some serious dance moves.


6. She is constantly helping people turn their dreams into realities.


7. ...and constantly giving back in any way possible.


8. She has a soft spot for children, despite the fact that she does not want any of her own.


9. She understands the fine line between laughing with people and laughing at people.


10. She is an open book and always keeps it real.


11. She is full of quality advice.


12. She is a Belieber.


13. She is an animal lover.


14. She is friends with some pretty cool celebrities.


15. Her show has won 33 Daytime Emmys and she herself has won Outstanding Talk Show Host four times because she rocks.


16. She understands the importance of keeping the world educated.


17. Ellen and her wife, Portia de Rossi, have such a beautiful relationship....can you say #relationshipgoals?!

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.
