Finals can be mentally and physically draining, but remember that you can do anything you put your mind to. Hopefully these quotes help you do that.

For as long as I can remember I've been a quote junkie, which probably sounds rather odd to hear. I just love quotes. I love reading or seeing those tiny pieces of someone's mind that somehow help me through whatever it is I'm dealing with at that time.

Currently, it's finals. As an art student, my finals consist of projects that I've been working on all quarter long. Which somehow seems to always get into full swing the last month of the quarter, my time management still needs some work.

But I know most schools have finals coming up so I thought I'd compile some of my favorite quotes to help you all lift your spirits enough to finish this semester/quarter/term/etc.

1. “If you hear a voice within you say ‘you cannot paint,’ then by all means paint, and that voice will be silenced.” – Vincent Van Gogh

2. “Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm.” – Winston Churchill

3. “Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.” – Thomas A. Edison

4. “You can’t have a better tomorrow if you’re still thinking about yesterday.” – Charles F Kettering

5. “The surest way not to fail is to be determined to succeed.” – Richard Brinsley Sheridan

6. “Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss you’ll land among the stars.” – Les Brown

7.“It is not the mountain we conquer, but ourselves.” – Edmund Hillary

8.Even if you’re on the right track, you’ll get run over if you just sit there” – Will Rogers

9. “The problem is not that there are problems. The problem is expecting otherwise and thinking that having problems is a problem.” – Theodore Rubin

10. “Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.” - Thomas A Edison

11. “Blessed are those who can give without remembering and take without forgetting” - Elizabeth Bibesco

12. “Your attitude, not your aptitude, determines your altitude.” – Zig Ziglar

13. “If you’re going through hell, keep going.” – Winston Churchill

14. "Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself." — John Dewey

15. "Things don't have to change the world to be important." – Steve Jobs

16. "The urgent can drown out the important." – Marissa Mayer

17. "Knowledge will bring you the opportunity to make a difference." – Claire Fagin

18. “Believe in yourself and all that you are. Know that there is something inside you that is greater than any obstacle.” –Christian D. Larson

19. “If you don’t go after what you want, you’ll never have it. If you don’t ask, the answer is always no. If you don’t step forward, you’re always in the same place.” –Nora Roberts

20. “Live your life each day as you would climb a mountain. An occasional glance towards the summit keeps the goal in mind, but many beautiful scenes are to be observed from each new vintage point.” – Harold B Melchart

Remember to drink water, to eat, and to get your rest during finals (because I tend to live off coffee and very little sleep and it doesn't help as much as you think at the time). It can be hard to take care of yourself amid the tests, papers, and projects but you will only get so much out of yourself if you don't take care of yourself along the way.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
