20 K-Pop Songs That Will Unleash Your Inner Badass
Clipartpanda

There are days when we feel down and think how we aren't good enough for our own existence. We have days where we just don't feel fresh. We just want to crawl under a rock and let our confidence riot. However, I have a solution to cheer your self-esteem up--even if it lasts for a second.

I know what you are thinking, "Not another K-Pop article!"

Yes, another K-Pop article! And you know what? This K-Pop playlist will make you feel like a badass and royalty--King, Queen, PrincessKing, whichever you prefer! I have searched far, far away in YouTube and found a collection of songs that will guarantee you will feel amazingly confident, and proclaim your badass royalty. Though not every K-Pop song has an empowering message of being yourself, its beats, rhythm and fun lyrics will get you through the day in the end.

So here are your K-Pop songs that will unleash your badass royalty:

BlackPink "Boombayah"

The newest girl group that screams "Girl Power!" You can play this track when you want to give the element of surprise. What I mean by "element of surprise" is if you want people to turn their heads and be wowed by your existence when you enter the room. So strut to this track when you want to feel flawless.

Agust D "Agust D"

So I recently heard this song from Agust D, also known as Suga from the mega-hit K-Pop group BTS/Bangtan Boys, and his first official mixtape. This song will get you hyped and feel so lit no matter where you are, especially how fast the beat gets during the second verse. It may feel short but don't worry! His mixtape has the full song so if you want to hear the longer (it's only repeating the chorus twice at the end), definitely check it out!

Check out the lyrics here. (It also features closed captions so you're good!)

Yoon Mi Rae "Get It In"

Korea's Hip-Hop/R&B Queen will get you energized and motivated as "Get It In" will help you get stuff done--like a boss. After listening to this song, you'll probably keep singing the lyric "You're just another dead bug on my windshield/SPLAT." Trust me, I've been there.

Check out the lyrics here. (It's the English Version!)

VIXX "On And On"

Dance "On And On" to VIXX! This may not be as explosive as "Voodoo Doll" or their most recent track "Fantasy." However, you can still dance around to this song as you walk down the halls of your workplace or college campus and still feel great.

Check out the lyrics here.

Brown Eyed Girls "Sixth Sense"

As I stated on one of my older Odyssey articles, BEG's "Sixth Sense" will give you life as they sing about art and freedom. They are not shy about controversial and empowering message in music so be prepared to get slayed.

Check out the lyrics here.

Big Bang "Fantastic Baby"

A K-Pop classic. Just shout "Boomshakalaka" and you'll be just fine.

Check out the lyrics here.

Hyuna "Roll Deep"

Not only you'll feel sexy while listening to this song, but you will "Roll Deep" into a badass mode that you won't let anyone touch you!

Check out the lyrics here.

Zion.t "Babay (ft. Gaeko)"

Not a dance-pop kind of person? Zion.t's smooth R&B song "Babay" will make you feel like you're the coolest cat in town.

Check out the lyrics here. (It also features closed captions so you're good!)

CL "Hello Bitches"

Another great sexy and badass track! This one is more in your face and is unapologetic to its listeners. Especially the title of the song. So if you give zero Fs about people and what they think of you, play this song when you enter the room.

Check out the lyrics here.

Infinite "Cover Girl"

Of course, not all songs have to have an epic "I'm amazing," in-your-face. Many songs can be a reminder that you are loved and, one day, you'll find someone special who thinks and feels the exact same way. That's where Infinite's "Cover Girl" comes in. Every day, you are a Cover Girl, Cover Boy, and Cover Humxn.

Check out the lyrics here.

4Minute "HUH"

And, we're back to the badass, dance track. Let's listen to a classic 4minute song as you chant "I'm on top now!"

Check out the lyrics here.

BTS "Fire"

You'll feel lit when you hear this track! You'll be lit (not literally) and no one can handle your greatness and hotness when you play this track.

Check out the lyrics here. (It also features closed captions so you're good!)

9MUSES "Hurt Locker"

9MUSES has released consistent songs, and "Hurt Locker" is no exception. Not only "Hurt Locker" is a great summer song, it's also a strong dance track that will make you bust a move and embrace your greatness.

Check out the lyrics here.

Yang Hwa Jin "It's Alright"

From the K-Drama hit, "City Hunter," rocker Yang Hwa Jin will make you feel like you can do anything with this track! You can bang your head and smile as you walk down the street. Singing to yourself, "It's Alright!"

Check out the lyrics here.

KARA "Pandora"

Wanna feel like you're in a high-speed car ride? As if you came out of an anime? Kara's "Pandora" is the perfect song for you!

Check out the lyrics here.

DEAN "I'm Not Sorry"

One of K-Pop and K-R&B's rising star, DEAN has songs like this one that will make you do body-rolls and squeal, "Yas!" Once that song plays, you won't be sorry.

Check out the lyrics here. (This is the Lyrics video so you're fine!)

After School "Bang!"

Another K-Pop classic! Even though many fans consider this song underrated, After School's "Bang" will march right into your heart and strut your royal stuff.

Check out the lyrics here.

Tae Yang "Ringa Linga"

You may not be a great dancer. You may not be Tyra Bank's perspective of "America's Next Top Model." Regardless of who you may not be, Tae Yang's "Ringa Linga" is a song for you to be anything you want to be. (Bad rhyming intended.)

Check out the lyrics here.

MFBTY "Sweet Dream"

Like Yoon Mi Rae's "Get It In," her group, MFBTY's "Sweet Dream" is a boss song. If you want to rock out and be the badass royalty/boss you are meant to be, this song is for you.

Check out the lyrics here.

2ne1 "I Am The Best"

This is literally self-explanatory.

Check out the lyrics here.

I hope this playlist will make you feel more confident as I did. After all, everyone needs to feel like awesome royalty sometimes.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate
Mental Floss

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

As this semester wraps up, students can’t help but be stressed about finals. After all, our GPAs depends on these grades! What student isn’t worrying about their finals right now? It’s “goodbye social life, hello library” time from now until the end of finals week.

1. Finals are weeks away, I’m sure I’ll be ready for them when they come.
