20 Places For Your Northwest Arkansas Bucket List

1. Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, Bentonville

If you're into art you'll love this place, and if you don't love art you'll still love that your Instagram game will improve 100% with all the cool paintings and encouraged non-flash photography.

2. Frank Lloyd Wright's Bachman-Wilson House, Bentonville

This house is a newer extension of Crystal Bridges and looks like it would be so fun to tour. Get your tickets before you go because there is limited space!

3. Thorncrown Chapel, Eureka Springs

I have to admit this is on the list because I like to admire the beauty of places like this. I will go somewhere purely if it's pretty and this is definitely worth visiting.

4. Castle Rogue's Manor, Eureka Springs

Again, another place that is on here for sheer beauty. You can tour this place! It may not be a true medieval castle but if you can't afford to just go to Europe and look at a real historical castle, this place is just as good.

5. Golden Kolache Bakery, Fayetteville

This place was on a Buzzfeed list of the best bakery in every state. That's a pretty big deal. It's never gets extremely busy and if I were you, I'd hop on the bandwagon before it does.

6. Hugo's, Fayetteville

Best burger I've ever had, hands down. They also sell crepes. Weird, I know, but everything from this place is A-MA-ZING.

7. Local Flavor Cafe, Eureka Springs

Eureka Springs is a hidden gem. The Local Flavor Cafe is an embodiment of everything Eureka Springs and turned into food. This restaurant is the perfect place to be on a nice spring day.

8. Alchemy, Fayetteville

First of all, best macarons you'll ever have. With a great variety of unique and classic flavors, it'll take so much restraint not to order one of everything.

9. Kream, Fayetteville

Not only are the flavor combinations to die for, they also can make you an ice cream sandwich out of a DONUT! I've never cared less about calories in my life.

10. The Walmart Museum, Bentonville

If you're in Northwest Arkansas, you have to go the Walmart Museum. It's basically a rite of passage.

11. Botanical Gardens of the Ozarks, Springdale

Another place on this list for its beauty! Every botanical garden is beautiful, but this one knocks it out of the park.

12. Farmer's Market, Fayetteville

Voted #5 in the nation, this farmer's market is the most fun you could have on a Saturday in Fayetteville (Yes that was shade to our football team, get it together boys).

Open on the downtown square April – October Tuesday, Thursday (7 am – 1 pm) and April to November Saturday (7 am – 2 pm).

13. Peel Mansion Museum and Heritage Gardens, Bentonville

Not only can you tour this super cool and beautiful mansion, you can also rent it!

14. Quigley's Castle, Eureka Springs

Another cool castle that is really worth visiting! It also has a really cool story so touring it can be fun and interesting.

15. Downtown Bentonville

Everything in Downtown Bentonville is so awesome. It's a pretty touristy place but it's really fun and sometimes you have to be a tourist to see some cool things.

16. Mount Sequoyah, Fayetteville

Watching the sunrise/sunset on Mount Sequoyah is something everyone should do at least once in their life. I would go for sunrise though because there aren't as many people there.

17. Fayetteville's Funky Yard Sale

Not much can be said about this place because it's just so cool. Once you walk in and look around, you'll never want to leave.

18. Hammontree's Grilled Cheese, Fayetteville

If you like grilled cheese, this place will be heaven. They have so many different types of grilled cheese and the price is college student approved.

19. Mildred B. Cooper Chapel, Bella Vista

Okay, this is the last place on the list that's on it just for beauty. Look at it, though. It deserves to be on this list.

20. Burton's Comfort Creamery, Fayetteville

Four Words: Ice Cream Food Truck. How trendy? Ben Rector has his own flavor here, which is also very trendy. If you've ever talked to anyone that has ever been in Fayetteville, you know that Burton's is the best.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
