Classes are starting up soon which means we're all searching Pinterest for sanity, encouragement, inspiration...and the perfect house. Of course, we're stuck in lecture so here's some quick motivation to keep going when things get a little really rough this semester:
1. “What we have to remember is that we can still do anything. We can change our minds. We can start over. The notion that it’s too late to do anything is comical. It’s hilarious. We can’t, we must not lose this sense of possibility because in the end, it’s all we have.” – Marina Keegan
2. “She was one of the rare ones, so effortlessly herself, and the world loved her for it” – Atticus
3. “To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people just exist.” – Oscar Wilde
4. “Wherever you are, be all there." – Jim Elliot
5. "For what it’s worth: it’s never too late or in my case, too early to be whoever you want to be. There’s no time limit, stop whenever you want. You can change or stay the same, there are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. And I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you never felt before. I hope you meet people with a different point of view. I hope you live a life you’re proud of. If you find that you’re not, I hope you have the strength to start all over again” – F. Scott Fitzgerald
6. “I will not be another flower, picked for my beauty and left to die. I will be wild, difficult to find, and impossible to forget.” – Erin Van Vuren
7. “What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals.” – Henry David Thoreau
8. “She was fascinated with words. To her, words were things of beauty, each like a magical powder or potion that could be combined with other words to create powerful spells” – Dean Koontz
9. “If you’re feeling frightened about what comes next, don’t be. Embrace the uncertainty. Allow it to lead you places. Be brace as it challenges you to exercise both your heart and your mind as you create your own path towards happiness, don’t waste time with regret. Spin wildly into your next action. Enjoy the present, each moment, as it comes; because you’ll never get another one quite like it. And if you should ever look p and find yourself lost, simply take a breath and start over. Retrace your steps and go back to the purest place in your heart…where your hope lives. You’ll find your way again.” – Rory Gilmore
10. "No one can make you feel inferior without your consent." – Eleanor Roosevelt
11. "The most wasted of days is one without laughter." – E.E. Cummings
12. "Keep your eyes on the stars, and your feet on the ground." – Teddy Roosevelt
13. "You will always be too much of something for someone: too big, too loud, too soft, too edgy. If you round out your edges, you lose your edge. Apologize for mistakes, apologize for unintentionally hurting someone - profusely. But don't apologize for being who you are." – Danielle Laporte
14. "I figure, if I'm going to be a mess, I might as well be a hot mess." – Mindy Kaling
15. "Be messy and complicated and afraid and show up anyways." – Glennon Doyle Melton
16. "I began to realize how important it was to be an enthusiast in life. If you are interested in something, no matter what it is, go at it full speed. Embrace it with both arms, hug it, love it and above all, become passionate about it. Lukewarm is no good." – Roald Dahl
17. "The less you reveal, the more people can wonder." – Emma Watson
18. "Don't let someone steal your tenderness. Don't allow the coldness and fear of others to tarnish your perfectly vulnerable beating heart. Nothing is more powerful than allowing yourself to truly be affected by things." – Zoey Deschanel
19. "I feel there is nothing more artistic than loving people." – Vincent Van Gogh
20. "May your coming year be filled with magic and dreams and good madness. I hope you read some fine books and kiss someone who thinks you're wonderful, and don't forget to make some art. And I hope, somewhere in the next year, you surprise yourself." – Neil Gaiman
