Since the last election cycle, politics have invaded our everyday life.

There is no way to escape it We are one year into the Trump presidency and 1) the world is on fire (literally and figuratively), 2) our foreign relations are crumbling and 3) Discussions of the 2020 presidential race are already underway. The last election shaved 10 years off of my lifespan and if things continue this way, 2020 will likely do the same. Trump is currently campaigning for his reelection. If the Russia investigation turns up nothing and somehow he makes it long enough to actually run, the Democrats are going to need a strong candidate to win back the presidency, along with the House and the Senate. We need someone smart, competent, and unafraid. Someone who could definitely beat Donald Trump and debate him into the ground.

While I’ll continue cheering on Mueller and fighting against the heinous policies of this administration, here’s a list of the people who could run and win in 2020 against president Trump.

The Politicians

1. Bernie Sanders

The man. The myth. The legend. If Bernie makes a run and the DNC backs him (once again, a girl can dream), he'll have a fantastic chance. The progressive movement is growing by the day and with Bernie at the helm, we have a shot. Feel the Bern, baby.

2. Elizabeth Warren

The boss senator from Massachusetts is not afraid of anyone, especially not her Republican counterparts. A huge advocate for breaking up the big banks and Wall Street regulation, Warren is the woman we need in the Oval Office.

3. Al Gore

The former presidential candidate and popular vote winner in 2000 reentered the political ring campaigning for Hillary this last election cycle. He's a champion for climate change, has plenty of political experience and is highly educated. Who says you can't make a comeback 20 years later?

4. Keith Ellison

A strong progressive and Bernie supporter, Ellison covers all of the bases. He has support from liberals and the far left, while still being in the good graces of the establishment and the DNC. Ellison currently seems like a go-to choice.

5. Kamala Harris

The darling of the Democratic establishment, Kamala Harris is an ideal candidate who ticks off all of the DNC's boxes. Not exactly the progressive champion liberals are hoping for, but she stands on the correct side of the issues. This newcomer has been shaking up Capitol Hill and hopefully will continue to do so.

The Comedians

6. John Oliver

Hilarious and brilliant, this Peabody award-winning entertainer has a better grasp on the issues than most politicians. His in-depth research pieces educate viewers while keeping them laughing. Oliver would bring innovation and hilarity to the uptight environment that is Capitol Hill

7. Samantha Bee

Samantha Bee is an unapologetic feminist. She knows the issues and is ready to fight for them. Plus, she's hysterical. This boss babe is nasty, proud, and ready to win.

8. Jon Stewart

Though he left the Daily Show a while ago, Stewart keeps up with the issues and is as funny as ever. He has Super-PAC and debate experience so he's ready to go! Come on, Jon, America needs you

9. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler

If we could have co-presidents, these two would be my top choice. Politically active, hysterical, and smart, Tina and Amy are perfect for the job. As Tina's famous saying goes "Bitches get stuff done" and these two are no exception.

The Celebrity Activists

10. Sophia Bush

The One Tree Hill actress is incredibly politically active. Just look at Sophia's social media pages and you'll see her fighting for every cause under the sun. She doesn't just tweet about it, she takes her advocacy and charity into the real world as much as possible. This boos babe doesn't anything or anyone stop her and is definitely White House ready.

11. Amber Tamblyn

Quite possibly the most unapologetic feminist there is, Tamblyn is ready to stand up for her beliefs at a moment's notice. She's the kind of woman we need in politics: strong, brazen and ready for anything. Amber makes sure everyone hears her and knows where she stands. Keep talking girl, we're listening.

12. Grumpy Cat

Grumpy Cat is the savior we need right now. Perpetually annoyed and irritated, he would scare everyone into getting stuff passed. Imagine him at the G20 summit: respect for America would go through the roof! Plus he's voiced by Aubrey Plaza so it's a win-win.

13. North West and Blue Ivy

Some of tiniest powerhouses in Hollywood, these two are destined for world domination. Might as well start early. With North's entrepreneurial family and Blue's rumored genius, these pint-sized celebs are more prepared than the current administration will ever be.

The Dream Candidates

14. Eleven from "Stranger Things"

Nobody messes with this chick. If Eleven was president, you better believe stuff would get done. We can have Dustin, Mike, and Lucas will be in the cabinet and unlike President Trump these friends don't lie.

15. The Rugrats

This crew of babies has the determination and smarts to handle the presidency better than some elected officials currently in DC. If anyone can lead this country in the right direction, it's Tommy Pickles, Reptar and his gang of toddlers superstars.

16. Leslie Knope

Leslie Knope is likely the most dedicated public servant on this list. She never quits and always fights for what she believes in. Plus if Leslie wins, we get Ben, April, Andy, Tom, and Donna. It's a win all around.

17. Cristina Yang and Meredith Grey

The Twisted Sisters are what America wants and needs. They are the perfect pair stacked with brains, grit, determination, and hilarity. They've survived bombs, a gunman, a plane crash and just about everything else. The presidency should be a piece of cake.

18. Brooke Davis

This boss babe conquered the world in One Tree Hill. Psycho stalkers, near-death experiences and broken hearts didn't stop this girl. If anyone can handle the American economy, foreign policy and all the other craziness of the presidency, it's Brooke Penelope Davis.

19. Blair Waldorf

Powerful, intimidating and smart, Blair is the perfect presidential candidate. She gets what she wants and does it all with a smile. Plus with Chuck as her right hand man, what could go wrong?

20. Megan from Drake and Josh

Quite possibly the most obvious choice, this mischevious genius is the hero America needs.

The United States and the Democratic party need a strong and progressive candidate. While I think we need Bernie or Elizabeth as president, I'd settle for Grumpy Cat or Leslie Knope. Anyways, everyone on this list is more qualified than the White House's current occupant.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. After talking to a few of my friends at college, I realized that a lot of them don't really have "Christmas traditions" in their family, and I want to help change that. Here's a list of Christmas traditions that my family does, and anyone can incorporate into their family as well!

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
