20 Moments To Expect When Living With Your Best Friends
Olivia Hamilton

As fall semester gets closer and closer, students everywhere are packing and organizing for a new school year. Many college students are getting ready to move into their first place off campus, some with random roommates and others with their friends. Either way, it’s a gamble. You never know what you're getting yourself into with random roommates, but you are also risking friendships when you live in close quarters. I’ve got a year of living with my best friends under my belt, so if your experience is anything like mine, this is what you can expect.

1.Move in day will be very exciting, and inevitably filled with screaming “Hi’s” after a summer apart.

2. You will have already dedicated a Pinterest board to decorating your place, so now you all hit the shops to get everything you need.

Watch out Target shoppers, we are coming.

3. The first disagreement will be awkward.

Whether it’s about cabinet space, dirty dishes, or decorative taste, there will be arguments. But you all will get through them if you actually communicate.

4. After everything is settled in, you have your first girls night.

This is basically the same as last year, but now you get to call each other ROOMMATES. Nights in will consist of laughing hysterically, countless movies, cooking mac and cheese together, and girl talk.

5. You always have someone to laugh with.

This is probably the best part.

6. You also always have someone to cry with.

They will know whether to cry with you or simply leave you alone.

7. Your other friends will wish they lived in your house.

But of course, we're always down for visitors.

8. There is no designated hang out spot.

For better or worse, every room is fair game.

9. You WILL need some alone time.

10. Life is an endless photoshoot.

It's like having a photographer around 24/7.

11. You’ll also understand that silence doesn’t have to be awkward.

Silence can either be awkward or mean that you are completely comfortable with someone.

12. Someone is always there for a pep talk.

13. People will get annoyed of your constant snaps of each other.

We are just really funny people and we’re not sorry about it

14. When the fire alarm goes off at 5:30 AM, you know who's cooking.

We forgive them for disturbing our beauty rest.

15. You know exactly how to annoy each other.

16. You do a happy dance when their cars are in the driveway because that means you get to come home and talk about your days.

Get ready to hear about what happened while I was in line for Starbucks--it's crazy.

17. You're habits and styles will rub off on each other.

18. Everyone wants to come to your place for pregames.

We truly are the life of the party.

19. There will be times when you don’t get along.

Sometimes you will go straight to your room and avoid eye contact.

20. But at the end of the day, they’re your besties and you are lucky to live in a happy home.

You all will be a support system. You should never let the little things get in the way of the bigger picture.

For those long nights that turn into mornings when the struggle is real.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

28 Daily Thoughts of College Students

"I want to thank Google, Wikipedia, and whoever else invented copy and paste. Thank you."

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate
Mental Floss

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

As this semester wraps up, students can’t help but be stressed about finals. After all, our GPAs depends on these grades! What student isn’t worrying about their finals right now? It’s “goodbye social life, hello library” time from now until the end of finals week.

1. Finals are weeks away, I’m sure I’ll be ready for them when they come.
