1. Music

No matter what kind of music you listen to - rap, pop, country, rock - it doesn't matter. It has the power to save you, to let you escape your mind. Let it.

2. Family

They will always care about you, no matter what.

3. Friends

No matter what happens, friends never want to see you upset. They also are a reminder that we are never alone.

4. Scrapbooking (or other crafts)

It's the best way to feel productive when you don't want to do school work, so it's a definite win.

5. Ice cream

So many yummy flavors. Does it really need an explanation?

6. Movies

There are literally thousands of movies to watch. Some of them are too good to not watch twice :).

7. Books

Get lost in the plot of any book. Stories have the power to transform our own mind.

8. Coffee shops

If you don't like coffee, go in for the smells, or the vibe. Either way, totally worth it.

9. Exploring new places

Even if it's just a ten minute drive to the nearest small town, there is something awesome about seeing something new for the first time.

10. Dogs

They are the definition of unconditional love. Everyone deserves to feel that.

11. Cats

If you're not a dog person, cats still show just the right amount of loving.

12. The sound of the waves at the ocean

Instant relaxation.

13. Vacations

They're basically just week(s) long breaks, but they're awesome.

14. Sunsets

Just one more excuse to embrace the end of a day :).

15. Sunrises

and the beginnings of them, too.

16. Pizza

Cheesy goodness in every bite.

17. Baking/cooking

Whatever you make smells delicious as it's cooking, and you get to eat it afterwards. What's not to love about that? :)

18. Hot chocolate

There's only one thing better than a chocolate bar... chocolate you can drink.

19. College sweatshirts

They are quite possibly the most comfortable item of clothing ever created.

20. Did I mention ice cream?!

Seriously, is an explanation really needed?

“Above all else, we choose to stay. We choose to fight the darkness and the sadness, to fight the questions and the lies and the myth of all that’s missing. We choose to stay, because we are stories still going. Because there is still some time for things to turn around, time for surprises and for change. We stay because no one else can play our part.

Life is worth living.

We’ll see you tomorrow.”

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
