It's been almost 16 years since we were introduced to Mia, Joe, Lily, Micheal, Lana and Queen Clarisse Renaldi. The Princess Diaries (2001) and The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement (2004) have left us with many lessons that have new meaning as we grow up. Here's some things we have all learned and loved from the Princess Diaries.

1. You might secretly be a princess.



2. Proper Princess etiquette.





3. Some people will always be a jerk.



4. Magic tricks aren't always romantic.



5. It's ok to be late, because a Queen is never late.



6. Invisible girls can get the guy.



7. Grandmothers make the best role models.

11. Ice cream is good for more than just eating.


12. Princesses have the best closets.



13. Mattress surfing isn't limited to age.

16. Even princesses "lose it".


17. You're never too old to find love.
