20 Lessons I've Learned From My Brother
Actual real life photo of me and my brother

It's not siblings day. It's not my brother's birthday. It's not some special time to thank him for all he's taught me. But I'm gonna do it anyway. I was sitting around, brainstorming what to write next for the Odyssey, and this idea popped into my head. So thanks for being a cool thing that I can write about Carson, and thanks for all that you've taught me so far!

My Older Brother has taught me that

1. Always being on time or even early is important

2. It's ok to feel a little lost in college

3. Working hard in school is totally worth it

4. Being busy doesn't have to be a bad thing

5.The Dark Night Trilogy rocks

6. And so does the Lord of the Rings Trilogy

7. Writing can do wonders for the mind and soul

8. Question things: don't accept them at face value

9. Disciplining yourself is hard but also essential for success

10. Managing money is no joke

11. Traveling and exploring more of the world opens your eyes

12. Try new things

13. Push yourself and you will get far

14. Always try to make a good impression

15. Impress your teachers, earn their respect

16. I'm never going to beat him at video games

17. Or Monopoly

18. Read. Read to expand your mind, your vocabulary, and your perception of the world

19. Blasting music in the car is fun

20. Be open to change in your life. Change is good, and can even be great if you're willing to accept it

Thanks bro, you're alright I guess.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
