The world of art and entertainment is beautiful because of the amazing ability it has to communicate universal truths about the human life. With this wonderful fact in mind I have learned some of my most valuable life lessons from my favorite television shows. Therefore, without further ado here are twenty things I have learned about life thanks to Fox's New Girl so far.

1. It's okay to be weird.

Nobody is perfect so go ahead and embrace the weirdness.

2. Everyone should have their own personal douche jar.

Everyone does things they regret at times. Check yourself at the door every so often and hold yourself accountable for your actions.

3. Everyone needs someone who loves them like Schmidt loves Cecelia.

Every women deserves to have someone in their lives that loves, honors, supports, respects and humors them like Schmidt loves and adores Cece. Their relationship is something to admire for years to come because of its ups and downs as well as its continued honesty.

4. It's okay to not have everything figured out.

This is simply the anthem of every college student and or recent college graduate ever. Therefore, the only thing I can say is PREACH IT GIRL!

5. Sometimes all you need is confidence.

Although, the truth is at times everyone needs a little pep talk to help them find the confidence they need, so thank you Nick Miller for being that person.

6. The best thing to ever happen to you will happen in the most unexpected way.

Let's be honest. Sometimes the universe sends you a craigslist aid and you end up rooming with four single guys who become your best friends in a loft in Los Angles California, but other times sometimes the universe sends you and your roommates to a party at Prince's house even though you have no business being there, you have the time of your life.

7. The dumbest idea could actually be the best one.

Let's be honest, there is an incredible amount of truth behind this statement but also please remember that some ideas truly are dumb and could be harmful so please leave those ideas at home.

8. Life sucks sometimes and that's ok.

Nick Miller is a wonderful person who despite being fictional speaks the truth. So strap yourself in, raise your hands above your head and ride the crazy rollercoaster called life.

9. Best friends are essential.

They are the people you do life with and are the most honest with. Love them and cherish them because true friends are hard to find.

10. Sometimes all you need is pancakes.

Food has healing powers at times; trust me, it's amazing.

11. Schmidt happens.

It happens....

12. One person has the potential to change your life forever.

Remember you have the power to influence anyone.

13. It's important to appreciate the simple things.

Simplicity is key. Remember to slow it down every now and then.

14. Every now and then it's ok to have yourself a good cry.

...and "Dirty Dancing".

15. If you fall get back up and get back out there.

In the almighty words of Taylor Swift "Shake it Off", you are not your worst day or your worst mistakes. Be the best person you can be. It takes more courage to get back up then it does to stay laying down and it is so much more rewarding.

16. Dress appropriately and look presentable. You never know whose going to notice.

The way someone presents themselves is important in life and could possibly define the rest of your life. Therefore I suggest we all listen to Mamma Schmidt because he cares about the job interview and or class presentation you have to go to or give on Monday morning. A well dressed person is a happy and confident person who is prepared and know what they're doing.

17. Relaxation in all its forms is a must.

One of the mandatory rules of life, as explained by one of my favorite television educators Miss. Jessica Day.

18. Words are hard sometimes.

At times our brains just don't work and function like they should therefore processing word pronunciations, sentences and correct grammar is hard. This is where we get weird noises like "ogh" and we start gesturing with our hands forgoing vocal communication all together.

19. Respect yourself.

If the people in your life can not love you for what makes you unique, they don't deserve to share their life with you. It's that simple.

20. Make everyday a fun day no matter the situation.

Even when life is absolutely awful, find something about everyday that makes you happy and have some fun because you only have one life to live.

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.
