Hello, ice cream lovers!

We are more than halfway through the summer, and I'm sure every single one of you have already gone out and bought some ice cream -- either on a cone or in a gallon at the grocery store. Ice cream is the best dessert, especially in the summertime. I think it completes the season, and it's appropriate for the hot and humid days we've been having lately. The best thing about ice cream is that everyone has a favorite! So, with that being said, it gave me the idea to create a ranking of the 20 best ice cream flavors that everyone seems to enjoy!

20. Pistachio

Not sure how this even made it onto my ice cream ranking, but it means something. I think I included it because it's such a unique flavor. Pistachio ice cream is an acquired taste, and only certain people can actually understand it. It's green with actual pistachio nuts in it. Make sure you don't mistaken it for green mint chocolate chip, or else you'll be disappointed.

19. Vanilla Fudge Ripple

If you're a chocolate sauce or a hot fudge person, this flavor has your name written all over it. Vanilla fudge ripple ice cream has the perfect amount of vanilla and chocolate swirled into it. This flavor is usually used with different sundaes, or sometimes black and white milkshakes. Neat!

18. Butter Pecan

I know a couple people who like this flavor. Butter pecan has a great buttery taste to it, with the pecans giving it an extra kick at the end. I'm not a huge fan of this one, but it can be popular when it wants to be. I mistook it for peanut butter cup ice cream once... I wasn't happy.

17. Cotton Candy

Loaded with sugar and smiles, cotton candy flavored ice cream is a favorite for children (and adults). It's undoubtedly a dream of theirs to try it. Do you like pink cotton candy? Or what about blue? You're promised to get both great tastes with that feeling of being at a fair or a carnival! How exciting (and yummy)!

16. Vanilla

Vanilla is simple and sweet. You're probably wondering why it's labeled as #16 on my list. Okay, don't yell at me. Many, many people LOVE vanilla, because of how plain it is. It's also creamy and "not too much". Kids tend to order it when they go out for ice cream, and it's also used for cakes and pies. I just wouldn't ever eat vanilla ice cream by itself.

15. Banana

Yum, something fruity! I do like banana ice cream, but it's definitely not my favorite. What about you? I can only tolerate it for so long until it gets to be too much. If you're a banana person like me, you'll love this. Mix this with some strawberry ice cream, and you've got one of the best fruit combinations ever.

14. Birthday Cake

Have you ever gone to a birthday party with cake and ice cream? Well, birthday cake ice cream (sometimes called party cake) gives you 2 for the price of 1. Its sugary icing flavor sure gives you the feeling of fun, happiness, and cheer. Super sweet!

13. Mint Chocolate Chip - WHITE

Let me tell you that I have not had white mint chocolate chip ice cream in the LONGEST time. Why? Because green is better! Anyway, there are a lot of people who choose white over green. YES, there IS a difference in flavor between white and green. White has a peppermint taste and chocolate chunks, which draws my attention to it. But most people choose green over white. Regardless, it's still good, even though it sadly didn't make the cut for the Top 10.

12. Moose Tracks

Follow the moose tracks to receive a sweet surprise! This flavor consists of smooth vanilla ice cream with big moose track chunks and creamy peanut butter cups. I like this one, because you get three flavors at once and it's just a great combo. Definitely a favorite for many.

11. Rocky Road

Follow the rocky road for another special surprise! Yes, rocky road is a thing, and it's amazing. Rocky road consists of chocolate ice cream with marshmallows and walnuts. Another great combo that is never allowed to go to waste!

10. Cinnamon Roll

Breakfast, anyone? Cinnamon roll ice cream is fantastic and the right choice for you. Now we have made it to the Top 10, and I was sure to include cinnamon roll ice cream in it. So if you are a breakfast person, you've found your match. How yummy: vanilla with tasty cinnamon swirls. Perfection in a bowl!

9. Neapolitan

I told you that I will not eat vanilla ice cream unless it's combined with something. Neapolitan is one of my favorites. It contains three originals: vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry ice cream. It's so good, I highly recommend it! There's something about all 3 together that makes it just irresistible.

8. Strawberry

Another fruity one! I absolutely love strawberry ice cream! Whether it be store-bought or homemade, it never fails to make me smile. If you're looking for something full of pizzazz and excitement, this is your match. It's simply one of the best. Classic!

7. Chocolate

"How come this isn't #1? Come on!" Hey, it made the Top 10, didn't it? Chocolate ice cream is a definite favorite. It goes with everything. It's creamy, it's chocolaty, and it's happiness. To be honest, chocolate ice cream is the greatest comfort food. I crave it almost all the time, but it landed at #7. There are even better ones coming up.

6. Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough

Another mega favorite for people of all ages! Cookie dough ice cream consists of vanilla with chocolate chips and cookie dough bites, just like you're eating a warm chocolate chip cookie... but it's cold. It can't get any better than that.

5. Peanut Butter Cup

Churned with either peanut butter or vanilla ice cream, peanut butter cup is guaranteed to make you feel good. The closest thing that is greater than peanut butter and jelly is peanut butter cup ice cream. If you're a peanut butter fanatic, then this is your key to happiness. It's rich and creamy, and perfect for a summer night!

4. Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup

What I just said for #5, but with chocolate! If you like Reese's and chocolate is your go-to, chocolate peanut butter cup is the answer. So good! What a summer treat.

3. Cookies 'n Cream

Are you an Oreo fan? Me too! This ice cream has lots of chocolate cookies in it to make your mouth water. Top it with some whipped cream and more Oreo's, and you've got yourself a masterpiece sundae!

2. Coffee

This is my personal favorite ice cream flavor in this entire universe! Yes, we finally reached it. In my world, it's #1, but not all people love coffee ice cream that much. That's why it landed at #2. The funny thing is, I don't like coffee as a drink. However, coffee ice cream is very creamy and has a nice mocha flavor. If you do love coffee, though, you're in luck!

1. Mint Chocolate Chip - GREEN

This ice cream flavor is literally THE BEST! Everyone loves it, and it's everyone's favorite! Did I make a good choice with picking the best ice cream? The green mint chocolate chip is more like a wintergreen mint, and it's filled with chocolaty chocolate chips. And the GREEN kind is the best kind!! No ifs, ands, or buts.

Enjoy the rest of your summer and save some ice cream for me!

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies.
