Writing is never easy. There're all kinds of things that make it a challenge. Writer's block, lack of time, or maybe you just have the itch to write but you have absolutely no idea to write about. All of these are real challenges and none of them are fun to deal with, especially if you're on a time limit or even just frustrated with yourself.
Getting the creative juices flowing in important when you're writing and that's something you can't always do yourself. Here are 20 super fun writing prompts to get you started!
1. You have the ability to pause time for any length of time, but if you fall asleep in the pause you will never wake up.
2. Take your favorite television show and cross it over with your favorite book or movie.
3. God appoints you “Controller of Weather”. You control and create natural disasters and weather. The first thing on your agenda: Sharknado.
4. Everybody gets superpowers. You end up with the ability to refill things.
5. You accidentally discharge your firearm into the television. Much to your surprise, instead of shattering the glass, it passes right through and hits one of the characters on screen.
6. When you lose things your mother always tells you that it can't have just grown legs and walked off. Apparently, it did.
7. It has been discovered that planets are eggs waiting to hatch. Today we watch as Mars begins to crack open and reveal the creature within.
8. You're broken. Your systems are failing and for some reason, you can't connect to the internet. All you can do it hope your battery lasts long enough to get help.
9. You discover that you have the ability to guess any password correctly with 100% accuracy.
10. You've managed to get ahold of a time turner. Oh, the places you'll go.
11. When a person dies, their memories get wiped, and they get sent back to earth, to be reborn. Problem is, they forgot to wipe yours.
12. You manage to find out that your newest video gam isn't a game at all. You're controlling real people.
13. Your computer is lagging to the point that brings you to tears and insulting the computer. It replies
14.You're a cowboy in the old west when suddenly...
15. You’re a human chameleon, you gradually become like the person you are looking at. You’ve met your true love and she’s one, too.
16. You have the ability to travel through time. Unfortunately, you've broken time, and all because you wanted a sandwich.
17. From birth, everybody has a word imprinted on their left arm. This is the last word they will ever say.
18. How many times have you died now? Right, too many to count.
19. They tried to summon a demon. They got you.
20. You've got guests over and you hope with all your might they won't hear the screams coming from the basement.
