In a world of constant stress and tension, it can be difficult to find moments during the day to just breathe and appreciate life. The world is a beautiful place, but we tend to forget that as we rush off to our jobs and schools and meetings and other taxing events that, to put it bluntly, undeniably put a damper on our lives. So, as you groggily crawl into bed after a long day and open up your laptop to read this article, I hope you can find at least a few reasons to smile and appreciate life today. :)

1. Otters hold hands while they sleep so they don't float away from each other.

2. At the moment of writing this, there are approximately 341,213 teeny tiny little babies being born.

3. A group of hedgehogs is called a "prickle."

4. A baby octopus is the size of a flea when it's born.

5. Penguins "propose" to each other by searching the beach for pebbles and presenting the best one they can find to the penguin they want to mate with.

6. Each cute little nose pad on a cat has it's own unique pattern, similar to human fingerprints.

7. The space next to a fireplace is called an "inglenook," which sounds like an incredibly cozy place to drink hot chocolate and read a book.

8. A giraffe's tongue is approximately 18-20 inches long.

9. Cuddling with someone you love releases a hormone called oxytocin, which acts as a natural painkiller - so go cuddle!
