Here are 20 different emojis that perfectly describe your semester without even needing to use words:

1. Smiling Face With Hands Emoji

I still don't know what this means, but I imagine that it displays the excitement you have when you move back to school and see all your friends after the long break. You forgot how much you missed college (you haven't thought about the work to come yet, though).

2. Twin Dancing Girls Emoji

When your squad reunites, you get ready together, and then, after just the right amount of mixed drinks, your song comes on.

3.Shocked Emoji

When you sit down in class on the first day, look at the syllabus, and realize that this semester is not going to be just late night pizza and getting wine drunk.

4. Eyes Emoji

For checking out that cute guy in your lecture... now you have a reason to get up in the morning!

5. Side-Eye Emoji

When your professor does any of the following things: walks into class late and holds you over, takes forever to answer an e-mail, doesn't explain an assignment, or complains about grading long papers that he or she assigns.

6. Sunglasses Smile Emoji

For those perfect days when your quiz gets postponed, a class gets canceled, and you don't get charged for the guac on your burrito bowl.

7. Grandma Emoji

For the nights when your crew wants to go out, and all you want to do is crawl into bed early with some Ben and Jerry's and Netflix.

8. Smiling Moon Emoji

"Oh damn, it's 4 a.m. and I've watched fourteen back-to-basic episodes of Orange is the New Black and I have a class in four hours!" Alternatively: "Oh damn, it's 4 a.m. and I'm still writing the paper that's due in four hours!"

9. Pizza Emoji

The emoji that describes your post-frat party or post bar crawl. Also, the emoji that describes what food you'll be eating cold the next morning.

10. Baby Emoji

When all your friends are 21 and you the designated baby of the group.

11. Money Flying Away Emoji

An emoji that college students can relate to a little too well: the universally recognized, sinking feeling you get when you look in your wallet at any given time and realize that you're broke AF.

12. Coffee Cup Emoji

For when you've been sitting in the library and you realize you're three cups deep but haven't actually done any work yet. #oops

13. Shrugging Girl Emoji

When you didn't study for that test and you ace it anyway. Also, for when you see your ex's new girl at a party and you look way better.

14. Side Smile Emoji

When the professor starts talking about group presentations and you shoot your friend this look from across the room.

15. Flex Emoji

For letting people know that you fulfilled your New Year's resolution and went to the gym one time.

16. Just Eyes Emoji

When you're looking at the week ahead of you and realize that you have 400 assignments due, 300 hours of work, 200 hours of internship, and 0 hours for sleep.

17. Nerd Face Emoji

For spending hours on that one assignment, studying, stressing out about a class, but having it all payoff.

18. Heart Eyes Emoji

When your professor cancels that morning class and you can stay in your warm bed and all is right with the world.

20. Cheers Emoji

Cheers to the weekend, the best times this semester, the worst times that you'll get through, and some of the best memories.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate
Mental Floss

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. After talking to a few of my friends at college, I realized that a lot of them don't really have "Christmas traditions" in their family, and I want to help change that. Here's a list of Christmas traditions that my family does, and anyone can incorporate into their family as well!

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
