This dingy weather is enough to make anyone gloomy. How in the world are you supposed to get the motivation to get out of bed to go to class or work? Let alone do that with a smile? Music. Recently, I've been getting back to the music I grew up on. Country. So here's some country songs that hopefully get you ready to go for the day even in this gloomy weather.

1. Raised by the Radio - Mitch Rossell

I found this song at the Garth Brooks tour. This guy wrote Garth's song "Ask Me How I Know" and this song is another testament to his songwriting skills. If you were raised on country radio like I was, you'll get a kick out of this song.

2. Somethin' Bad - Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood

If this song doesn't get your blood pumping and make you feel just a little bit badass, you obviously aren't really listening to it.

3. Redneck Woman - Gretchen Wilson

I'm a sucker for Gretchen Wilson. Plus, this song was one of the first times my mom ever let me say the word 'hell'.

4. 80s Mercedes - Maren Morris

Just the intro always makes me smile.

5. I'm Alright - Jo Dee Messina

I don't know know what it was with old country about saying a lot of words in a short amount of time, but it always give you a nice something to bob to.

6. Should've Been a Cowboy - Toby Keith

If nothing else, I just love to see--and laugh at--the cover of Toby in '93.

7. All Nighter - Dan + Shay

So Lady A originally recorded this for their 747 album and I like it a lot, but I heard Dan + Shay do it at Garth's concert and I love it.

8. Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy) - Big & Rich

When you didn't get the song until you got older, but now you get the joke and you have no idea why your mom let you listen to it, let alone sing it.

9. Don't Rock the Jukebox - Alan Jackson

Honestly, this is the most upbeat breakup song I've ever heard in my life where there singer was actually sad about the breakup and I'm here for it.

10. Road Less Traveled - Lauren Alaina

This song is so uplifting and fun, honestly.

11. I Like It, I Love - Tim McGraw

My mom has been a huge Tim fan for as long as I can remember. I'm pretty sure I know most, if not all, of his songs, but this is a particular favorite.

12. Going Out Like That - Reba McEntire

One of my personal favorite songs to put on a good break up playlists and also just dance to.

13. John Deere Green - Joe Diffie

Honestly, I don't think I know any other song by Joe Diffie, but this is forever one of my favorite country.

14. Let 'Er Rip - Dixie Chicks

I got back into the Dixie Chicks recently and I just love this song. It's a classic slow start into a fast pace, don't care kind of song.

15. Crash and Burn - Thomas Rhett

This song just starts out with a good beat to help chase away those gray clouds.

16. Don't It - Billy Currington

Just a fun, summer-y, love song that will get you dancing.

17. Our Song - Taylor Swift

If you do not appreciate this song, do not talk to me. I saw it in concert when she was the first opening act for Rascal Flatts and I still have the shirt and it always makes me happy.

18. I Love This Life - LOCASH

Nothing like a good beat and loving life song to get you going when it's raining.

19. Backwards - Rascal Flatts

THE ORIGINAL NOT THE HANNAH MONTANA MOVIE VERSION. While I do love the Hannah Montana Movie and that they were in it, the original version of this song is way funnier and more accurate.

20. She's in Love With The Boy - Trisha Yearwood

A classic that will always make you smile if you're a 90s/2000s country fan. Hearing Trisha do this live was just amazing.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
