Everyone I know is currently obsessed with "life hacks," or things that make your life a whole lot easier.
I know that making the transition from high school to college campus life is pretty difficult, so I decided to put together a list of life hacks that every incoming college freshman should know.
Which of these do you think you'll use?
1. Make moving easier by putting your hanging clothes in garbage bags.
2. Microwave your dish sponge for thirty seconds once a week to sanitize it.
3. The best way to clean a blender is to put soapy water in it and turn it on.
4. Collect all of your change in order to have some money on a rainy day.
5. Drinking two cups of water before each meal can help you avoid gaining the "Freshman 15."
6. Turn an empty cup into a make-shift speaker in order to make your music louder while you're in the shower.
7. Make a messy microwave easier to clean by putting a bowl of water in it for three minutes.
The steam will moisten the food/dirt and make cleaning simple.
8. Use binder clips on the side of your desk to organize your charging cords.
9. Study for thirty minutes, take a ten-minute break, and then repeat.
This cycle will help keep you focused.
10. Paint the top half of your keys with nail polish to identify them.
11. Use a pencil/sunglasses case for storing an extra phone charger in your backpack.
12. Put a wooden spoon across a pot of boiling water to keep it from boiling over.
13. When going grocery shopping, take a picture of your refrigerator and pantry so you can see exactly what you need.
14. Use coupons and student discounts everywhere possible.
It will save you a ton of money.
15. When taking notes, leave a few blank pages in the front for a "Table of Contents."
Also, make sure to color code sections throughout your notebook. This will make studying for finals much easier.
16. Use the seat warmer in your car.
To keep pizza warm on the drive home from the store.
17. Use a rubber band as a phone holder in your car for hands-free navigation.
18. Quickly de-wrinkle a shirt by tossing it in the dryer with a few ice cubes for a couple of minutes.
19. Turn your phone on airplane mode in class to save your battery
And you'll make sure that you won't be distracted by notifications throughout the lecture.
20. When you're finished writing an essay, copy and paste it into Google translate.
It will be easier to find mistakes if you hear it being read back to you.
