With the end of the semester quickly approaching, I have experienced so much unnecessary stress. I think it's so important to find positivity and inspiration to keep moving forward in life. Whenever I feel unmotivated, I take some time to listen to the philosophy of Bob Ross. He wasn't just a skilled artist. He had an uncanny ability to spread joy and happiness in the littlest of ways.

With that being said, here are some of his best bits of wisdom:

1. "You can do anything you want to do. This is your world."

2. "There's nothing wrong with having a tree as a friend."

3. "It's so important to do something every day that will make you happy."

4. "Don't forget to tell these special people in your life just how special they are to you."

5. "Anytime you learn, you gain."

6. "Talent is a pursued interest. Anything that you're willing to practice, you can do."

7. "You need the dark in order to show the light."

8. "Didn't you know you had that much power? You can move mountains. You can do anything."

9. "However you think it should be, that's exactly how it should be."

10. "Go out on a limb — that's where the fruit is."

11. "Remember how free clouds are. They just lay around in the sky all day long."

12. "You can do anything here — the only prerequisite is that it makes you happy."

13. "Isn't it fantastic that you can change your mind and create all these happy things?"

14. "If you don't think you can do this — you're not realizing how simple it is."

15. "Only think about one thing at a time. Don't get greedy."

16. "With practice comes confidence."

17. "Life is too short to be alone, too precious. Share it with a friend."

18. "Everything's not great in life, but we can still find beauty in it."

19. "You're the greatest thing that has ever been or ever will be. You're special. You're so very special."

20. "We don't make mistakes. We just have happy accidents."

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
