1. Spotify

This is pretty self-explanatory: music is a necessity. With your student email, you can get Spotify Premium for only $5/ Month!

2. Dictionary

A classic, you want to be amping up that vocabulary and be able to edit yourself on the go. You are, after all, a college scholar.

3. Linked-In

College is where you start making professional connections that will help you for the rest of your life- so start connecting!

4. Seven

It's easy to forget about staying healthy when you're trying to keep up with classes, but Seven gives you an intense, full-body work out in only seven minutes so you can squeeze in a workout whenever and whereever.

5. Skype

Don't forget about your folks back home- they miss you! Make sure to video chat your family and friends at least once a week.

6. Toga

If you ever find yourself sitting home on a Friday night, look no further than Toga- an app made for college students that lists all the fun events and parties going on A.T.M.

7. Venmo

Venmo makes paying your friends back SO easy- so close up those tabs and don't be known as the friend who never pays back!

8. Snapchat

Snapchat is one of the best ways to stay in touch with your friends in college as you can add a friend with the tap of a code, message your buddies, and see what they're doing on their story (and if the party they're at is "lit" enough to grace with your presence).

9. Instagram

If you're a big social media junkie like me, Instagram is just a no-brainer to have on your phone! Whether you're sharing your own memories or watching DIY/ tutorial videos, you can make great use of this popular app.

10. Scanner For Me

Since scanning is a pain, Scanner For Me uses your iPhone camera to capture some pretty quality scans that are uploaded directly to your camera roll and can easily be shared.

11. Uber/Lyft

Because not every city has a public transportation system like New York City...

12. GroupMe

Especially if you're involved in extracurriculars, GroupMe is the best group chat app on the app store to keep you up-to-date on all your involvements on campus.

13. SoundCloud

Support your local musicians/ artists! SoundCloud is full of hidden gems where you might just find your new favorite song.

14. House Party

Contrary to popular belief, House Party does not inform you of House Parties. It is a social video chat app where all your friends from back home can hop in the same chat room and video chat with up to 8 friends at once!

15. Google Docs

Important! Do your homework on your phone, tablet, laptop, library computer, in Starbucks, during class, from Target, and have it all synced.

16. BlackBoard

If your college uses BlackBoard to upload documents and readings, there's an app for it! We all know we're more likely to do our work if it's conveniently on our phone.

17. School App

Most schools have an iPhone app specific to the university where you can find maps, health information, library links, your schedule, security, and more helpful information. Take advantage of it.

18. UberEats

Sometimes, those dining halls just don't satisfy those midnight munchies, or odd cravings you might be having. Plus, there is a Back-to-School UberEats promo going on right now- check the app for details!

19. Scholly

Because school ain't cheap. Apply to scholarships from the convenience of your phone, and many are no-essay scholarships!

20. VSCO

College gets crazy, stressful, fun, adventurous, and you want to be documenting it all through. Keep those memories stored on VSCO to share with friends and edit your favorite flicks. Plus, you can order prints to show your kids in the future and pretend we lived in an age where not everything is digital.

Happy Downloading!

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
