Were you born in 1994? Did you attend Watertown Public Schools? Get ready for a blast from the past!

1) Starting off at Griffin School and only staying there for kindergarten since it was so old it had to be shut down

2)The fact that Griffin School is now a CVS....

3)Switching to the brand new John Trumbull Primary School and being instantly blinded by the yellow pod.

4) Having "Multiage" or whatever it was but that meant switching classes with the 1st and 2nd graders (some 1st grader puked in my class)

5)Polk School and nothing too special about it except the fact that you knew about Judson School and the "other" kids from the other side of town went there

6) OH WAIT- Spaghetti Cake and Mr. Nelson-enough said.

7) Going to Hemingway for just 6th grade

8) The endless amount of goose poop on Deland Field when we had gym class outside

9) The period of time where we weren't allowed to hug at Swift Middle School or even touch one another in fear of a detention.

10) The extreme construction at Swift when there were no walls, ceilings or lights

11) 8th grade graduation being planned for outside then it rained then it got sunny again so we had to bring chairs in and out twice

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.
