1. My thoughts and feelings are valid.

I am entitled to my feelings. I should not feel judged for my mind.

2. No one can tell me how I am feeling.

No one is in my head. No one actually knows how my mind works, except me.

3. It is important to discuss emotions and past events, no matter how painful.

A lot of my actions can be explained by past experiences. I am constantly adapting, but I can't move past it if I keep dwelling on it.

4. My mom doesn't try to tell me what to do in my life, so why should I let other people?

It is my life. I am an adult, not your SIMS character.

5. Sometimes it is okay to take a day for myself.

Mental health days are valid and needed.

6. It is important to think about why I do certain things for certain people.

Sometimes I do so much for people that don't even deserve it. But why do I do this? Because I care too much, or because I am afraid to say no?

7. It is okay to make myself my own priority.

"Please put your own mask on before helping others."

8. Sometimes a certain situation isn't about me.

I didn't do anything wrong. There are other things going on that don't have anything to do with me.

9. I am not in control of other people, and I am not responsible for their mistakes.

People make their own decisions and mistakes. I did not make them for them.

10. I am not at fault as often as I think.

I cannot be blamed for something I didn't do. I can make suggestions, but it is not my responsibility no matter what the person decides to do with it.

11. It is okay to be upset.

No one is allowed to tell me that I am not allowed to feel. I can do what I want with my feelings.

12. I am my own person, so why do I let other people control what I do?

Sometimes I need to make mistakes in order to learn for myself. I can't always learn from other people's mistakes.

13. I am not my anxiety.

It is a part of me, but it does not control me. It is just something that I deal with.

14. I am in full control of my own life.

I can control my own life. I live for me.

15. I can offer advice, but it is not my fault if someone chooses not to take it. It is also not my fault if it doesn't go as planned.

I am not at fault.

16. No one has the right to judge me for my own decisions.

I will not be judged. I will live my life and no one can tell me how.

17. Not everything has to end badly.

I can get through it, even if it takes all my life to get there.

18. I am able to do anything I want.

I can accomplish whatever I put my mind to.

19. I am valid.

And no one can tell me otherwise.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
