19 Reminders Every 19-Year-Old Should Hear And Take To Heart

I came across the quote today, “You can do anything but not everything.” Then it got me thinking... I'm 19 years-old and sometimes I feel like I should have my life planned out such as what career I want to have or where I want to live, but then I realize I don't even know what I'm making for dinner and that I'm also only 19 years-old...

Here are 19 reminders to look back at when you feel too caught up with being 19, you feel like you are not doing enough, or even maybe too much.

1. A lot of people are temporary in life. They were supposed to come into your life when they did, but there’s a time when they are no longer needed and that’s okay.

2. Your major doesn't define the rest of your life

3. Keep up with your health and fitness. You're not gonna regret going to the gym, but you will regret eating at Duck Donuts.

4. You wouldn't know what happiness is without pain.

5. Put the electronics down and get outdoors. You're not gonna look back and wish you binged watched more of "Greys Anatomy." There are sunsets to chase rather than the love story of McDreamy and Meredith.

6. You don't have to grow up so fast, slow down and take a step back. It's a journey so enjoy the views along the way.

7. Everything happens for a reason and sometimes it may not always be in your favor

8. Finding the "one" shouldn't be your main goal/motive, focus on that exam you have in two days.

9.  Don't be so hard on yourself, you're halfway there and everyone has their own pace.

10. Don't forget to count your blessings and be thankful when you have it all.

11. Overthinking doesn't show progress, so just go for it.

12. Go for a run, pet a dog, take a break and do what you enjoy.

13. Find a hobby you enjoy and don't let it go.

14. Take tasks head on because sometimes later becomes never. Work hard so that you can play hard.

15. You're not going to please everyone that crosses paths with you.

16. Some of the best things are unexpected, let life take its course and don't worry about what is to come.

17. Be present in every moment that you are in or else it will slip through your fingers. Not everything has to be lived vicariously through snap chat.

18. Be thoughtful and nice to others even if they don't ask for it or even when no one is looking.

19. You're never too cool to be goofy no matter what your age is, unapologetically be yourself. There's no one better than that.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
