  1. Some friends are like seasons: they will come and go. That’s okay because that's how nature flows.
  2. The friends who have stuck by your side through both the good times and bad, triumphs and hardships, are true friends. Keep them and treat them well.
  3. Don’t build walls, build bridges. You never know where life will go; don't screw yourself over in the long run because of temporary feelings.
  4. No one has the power to make you feel small. You are stronger than you will ever know.
  5. You have no control over others’ reactions, only your own.
  6. Happy people don’t have the best of everything, they make the best of everything.
  7. You can’t change the past. Accept your actions and move on with life.
  8. You can’t control what happens in the future. Stop worrying; everything will work out how it should.
  9. Attitude is everything. 90% of a situation is determined by your attitude.
  10. Don’t set expectations; most of the time you will only be let down.
  11. The only regrets in life are the chances you didn’t take.
  12. Don't judge others. You have no idea about the battles they are fighting.
  13. It is better to be the one who smiled than the one who didn’t smile back.
  14. Take care of your body, you are only given one.
  15. Follow your passions. Ditch security and your comfort zone. Do what makes you jump out of bed in the morning.
  16. Embrace change; it's inevitable. Life is a learning and growing process – people weren’t meant to stay the same forever.
  17. Trust your gut. You will know when it's telling you something so listen to it.
  18. Show your gratitude. A heartfelt "thank you" never hurts.
  19. It’s nice to be important, but it’s more important to be nice. Include everyone.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
